Youk' date=' that pitch wasn't THAT bad. Protect the plate with 2 strikes fella.[/quote']

Thats what I mean. This team takes too many called third strikes. You CANNOT take that kind of pitch there. You gotta try to foul it off or go to right field. And then you don't whine to the umpire about the call. Much too much of that too.

Is that his new nickname?

Not bad. I can live with that.

f***You Kilis

I like it.

What do you think of Pedroia's nickname, "Mighty Mouth"?

NESN just showed it....it was a strike at least according to the software.

Yeah, Youk's always been kind of a douche.

and yes pumps I cannot put together a rational expectation for a comeback from 5 down for these Sox against these Nats. That is two rally's at a minimum for us, uncontested by them.....I just don't see that in the cards.

I can see tossing in the towel earlier than me but I tend to think you can at least make one rally in a park that is so HR friendly and you can even get some pitching and make one rally uncontested...two rallys uncontested is marginally more offense than I can expect us to muster these days against these guys and more pitching than I think we have.

At least the ump did what the FO refuses to do with Youk' date=' bench him.[/quote']

You just gotta wonder if WMB would have struck out three times tonite. Maybe, but I would like to have taken my chances with him. f***you Kilis needs to go. Now.

I don't quite get the approach to the plate for many of the Sox hitters this year and while our hitting coach tends to get rave reviews I wonder if he concentrates to much on things like whether a guy has a hitch in his swing and to little on their overall approach to their plate appearances.

Yea, there are times when it almost looks like even some of the better hitters are almost passively looking for the BB and less inclined to swing at the close pitch with 2 strikes. However we also have guys that will not protect the plate with two strikes in the sense of choking up on the bat and being willing to take the ball and just dump it into the outfield insisting on either continuing to try to go the other way if that is their preference regardless of the pitch location or pulling if that is their preference regardless of the pitch location.

Nava's lack of physical talent will get in his way but watching his approach to plate appearances is in the main, refreshing.

Jung' date=' were his K's refreshing tonight?[/quote']

Strasburg dominated us tonite. He made a mistake to Aviles, but thats about it. They only way we were going to have a chance in this game is by tossing a great pitching game at them. Unfortunately, we rarely get that.

Has anyone seen Prometheus? Ridley Scott movies are usually awesome.

I've been hearing very good things about it. I agree, Scott has done some great stuff...Alien and Blade Runner are classics.

The Nats rank 26th in runs scored in all of baseball. They have six runs in four innings against us. What does that say about our 27th ranked pitching. Its a joke.
But our pitching is trending in the right direction. It's almost at #26.

Yes, posting a 6 ERA the first month kind of put us in a hole.

So rip Youk for K's' date=' but Nava's are acceptable. Noted.[/quote']

Here is why I rip f***You Kilis and Nava is more than acceptable:

f***Youkilis BA/OPS: .246/.720

Daniel Nava BA/OPS: .306/.951

Both coming into this game. All the players were overmatched and, as I posted earlier, the ONLY way we stood a chance is if our pitching shut them down. And you know what kind of pitching we have. I place this loss squarely on Doubront.
