Lee will be tough to beat.

Good thing we have Beckett going. I predict a low scoring game with Adrian taking lee yard to decide it.

Lee has allowed 2ER in his last 26IP vs the sox. My guess is he will be pretty good

And Rivera hasnt allowed any runs since the Yankees left Kansas city. He's having a great year.

All I gotta say is that we better win tomorrow. Sunday's game will be much tougher.

Lee is always good... I'm not looking forward to tomorrow, I think Lee will be a very tough matchup

Wait.

Isn't tomorrow Lester vs Blanton?? That game should be a slam dunk.

In a couple of weeks it will be June. Not only are we not contending for a playoff spot, we are in LAST PLACE.

This team really does suck.

Man Bard gets 10 groundballs again. If he just throw more f***ing strikes and make these hitter earn their way on we might have a good starter in him. Right now it's still early to pull him from starting, but he makes it hard on himself and everybody.

You want to compete this year for a playoff spot: hire Oswalt and send Bard back to the pen. If its for next year and you admit that this year we will continue to suck, keep him in the rotation.

Cody Ross is apparently at the hospital (per Valentine). I didn't get to see what happened. Did he foul one off his foot or something??

Off his shin

By the way, Iglesias went 4 for 6 tonight with 3 singles and a double. He's now hitting .283 with a .673 OPS and a .335 OBP.

It's getting close to being time for this guy.

He need more time. WMB has completely cool off whiffing against offspeed pitches. I seen Iglesias and there isn't an offspeed offering he doesn't like to hack at.

Aviles has done fine.

Not saying he's ready to replace Aviles.

I'm saying he's making huge improvements. He's looking like he's able to make adjustments properly.

did anyone see the BV and umpire spat.. that was hilarious.. the gum coming out of the ump and hitting BV and then BV pointing the finger at the ump...:D :D funny

yes we keep saying he has the stuff yet he digs a whole for himself in 1 inning and that costs us the game..

Every time I see Bobby Valentine, I can't help but picture him sitting down next to Dustin Pedroia and asking him if he likes movies about gladiators.

Bard's first inning was like amateur hour. It was an embarrassment. He knocked his team right out of the game. As a starter, he has not been impressive at all. He has had way too many walks and base runners. He balks like he has had no instruction in how to pitch with runners on base. The biggest thing of all is that as a starter he has had no put away pitch and his blazing fastball is no longer in his arsenal as a major weapon. Frankly, he is just no where near seasoned enough as a starting pitcher to get by without his 97-98 mph heater. He is dog meat throwing 92-93. Time to get him back to the pen where he can be dominating. This is not a reaction to one bad inning tonight. It's my observation after almost one-quarter of the season. He has not been impressive in any of his starts. Even in his starts that he won, he wasn't impressive. He was just okay.

The Pawtucket Red Sox took a 5-2 lead into the bottom of the eighth inning on Friday night in Durham, but a pair of errors by Jose Iglesias opened the door for 4 unearned runs for the Bulls. Durham earned a series split with the 6-5 win. Ironically, Iglesias, known for his scintillating defense, had 4 hits on the evening. Junichi Tazawa was saddled with the loss to fall to 0-1.

Bard is not throwing enough fastball to get ahead. Who the hell toy around with a bunch of .200 slap hitters in the Phillies lineup with changeups and sliders all night when he has a 95+ fastball? And when he does throw the fastball, it is the sinker and not the rising type.

Complete anomaly.

His defense is already tops in the MLB. I've heard multiple people say that if he was up in the MLB right now, he would be the best defensive SS in baseball. It's his stick that we're waiting on.

Aviles to outfield I am all for that move. If iggy gets up here. How can he be any worse than punto or nava btw the flyout rbi that nava caught if he would have gone to first base like every body pointed him to ..we would have been in the game...

I would hold off on calling a AAA player's defense the best in baseball. His glove is as slick as they come, but let's see how he holds up in the bigs before making that comment. There are some very, very slick fielders who implode in the bigs due to mental lapses and inaccuracies with the arm. See Eduardo Nunez, who was a good fielder in the minors, who just lost it mentally and is having trouble finding it again

Not what I said. I said that Nunez was considered a good defensive shortstop and since he came up to the bigs, he has lost it. It's all mental. You cannot call a minor leaguer the best defensive player in the minors when they are in the minors. It doesnt correlate. Iglesias has skills beyond almost all the SS's in the bigs, but he hasnt proven that he can do it at the big league level. That is actually important
