People hated Tebow because he was overexposed on ESPN. When it's 24HR coverage of a mediocre QB, people just wanted him to go away. It had nothing to do with religion. It's the same reason people hate Lebron.

I thought Tebow would be great for the NFL and he was.

The Jets got him because they are the biggest mediasluts in sports. They think they can use the media to win games. It doesn't work like that.

Every one is in agreement that he is not an NFL caliber starting QB at this time. About that there is no controversy. The controversy involves the other stuff.

I really think you can only speak for yourself on this. Google "Tebow religious controversy" and you will have plenty to read. I think you have your head in the sand on this one. I have never known a mediocre player who was so overexposed by the media. Also' date=' I don't know why fans would hate him for being overexposed. He had no control over that. The reason for the overexposure and the hatred stem from the controversy IMO.[/quote']

I agree that the controversy is media created and that football fans by and large don't care about it' date=' but the controversy created by the media was centered around his religion.[/quote']

No actually' date=' it is an expression of amazement. Do as I say, not as I do????? Like someone is going to obey.[/quote']You started the thread.

It was never a sports/Red Sox topic. I should not have allowed myself to get sucked into this thread. Enough is enough. Take your anti-Schilling agenda somewhere else.

You got yourself sucked into the thread over 40 times.....and now you want to stop! Now that is funny!

The Providence Journal has the exclusive interview with the formerly silent Curt. The list of offenses committed by the state and the governor are almost funny if Curt's POV wasn't so skewed. I loved --- they made me pay the 1mil + bill that was already overdue....so that is why I couldn't make my payroll.

Wouldn't even bother with him, he's been here trying to start ever since he joined. I'm pretty surprised that he's been here this long, but hey, Crespo was here long enough to make over 10,000 posts.

You mean like following people across the forums, being bitter enough to insult them when they're banned, etc.?

Yeah, pretty much. Wait, do you think?

It is very like that it is. What a complete loser. Homeless drunks and drug addicts with festering sores serve more of a purpose for society than him.

 My apologies to the homeless for the comparison.

The other Curtism I enjoyed was that the Gov of RI, in doubting the company, caused Curt to lose financial backing that was coming through......they backed out. Now Curt couldn't get a dollar pledged to him by anybody until the jock sniffing former gov got a hard-on thinking about associating with an athlete. NOBODY would give him a penny.

He tried to make jobs and a profit which it just didn't end up working out. At least he didn't spend the money that he earned while playing on stupid s***. Like a gold toilet.

We don't know that. The liability total was listed last night on the Providence news as over 220 mil. The RI State Police and the FBI are launching an investigation to see exactly where the money went.

I don't know... I get the feeling that he tried to make his company too big, too quickly, and just went way overbudget.

He hired some very big names to get the company off the ground. McFarlane, Salvatore, and a lead designer from Everquest. And he bought out a studio called Big Huge Games. Plus 160 employees?

The average employee probably cost 100K+ easily, because good developers are very expensive, especially if you're asking them to relocate. Health insurance 401ks, etc end up costing 40% of the average employee's salaries at most companies. We're talking 25-30 million a year just for employees. Plus licensing technology is very very expensive-- I have no idea what they used, but I'm sure it wasn't cheap. Then renting a space for all those employees, and giving them all dev kits and tools. Publishing costs...

He created a very good game. It isn't like all this money went into nothing. He just ended up being a child playing with adult money. I think it is as simple as that.
