Holy s***' date=' D-Lowe is starting for the Guardians tomorrow. Perfect.[/quote']

I honestly think D-Lowe will get a warm welcome, as he should.

What is most frustrating about the last two losses is that they should have been wins. Two days ago Bobby V should have went with another pitcher other than Albers. Yesterday we could have ended the first inning by not giving up any runs if Byrd makes that catch. It is stupid mistakes and the little things are killing us right now. There is no doubt in my mind that we will turn this season around. I know we will not finish below .500 this year. We will get things going. We need to start against the Tribe. Take one game at a time and play professional baseball like everyone on this team knows how to.
That's what bad teams do. They find all sorts of ways to lose games that were winable. They are a bad team. Period.

Well I will say this in defense of V. I don't think in his wildest imagination this team would have played this badly for him or anybody else. I have not been a big V supporter but he walked into a hornets nest of Machiavellian front office politics and mismanagement combined with a clubhouse full of pampered children that refuse to play as a team. They don't appear to help each other. They don't appear to talk to each other. Seem to talk to the guys on the other team more than they talk to each other.
I think you are right that this level of futility had to be unexpected. I was one of the biggest critics of the off season construction of this pitching staff, and I fully expected that it would fall apart at some point. However, I did not expect it to fall apart this rapidly. The injuries to Bailey has certainly accelerated this collapse. IMO, a healthy Bailey would have delayed this situation. His presence would not have prevented the collapse. His presence was not going to make Buchholz, Lester or Beckett any better. His presence wouldn't have turned Melancon into a shut down 8th inning guy. The pitching was going to fall apart. I never had any doubt about that. The only questions were when it would happen, how bad it would be and whether our offense could bludgeon us past it. The injuries to the offense have highlighted the pitching deficiencies, because with 3 elite batters they cannot consistently bludgeon the other teams. The disintegration of the pitching was definitely foreseeable. The rapidity of the disintegration was unexpected.

Lester pitch a s***** game again. Doesn't have any control of any his pitches. I cannot remember the last time he got a strike three called with his curveball. His cutter was hit put away pitch, then the hitters have adapted to not swing at it. He cannot control anything else or get ahead.

Mortersen act I hope last a little longer. But I cannot see it once they get the scouting out on him.

his delivery is very hard to pick up for FB vs changeup but you are right once they get all videos might be harder for Mortensen to decieve, and his FB is mere 88 mph i wish he could locate corners with that FB.

Yes. When you're playing this crappy there's no margin for error. Sure, we can bitch about a bad umpire's call last night or whatever else made the difference. But when you put yourself in a position that a win or loss against KC comes down to something like that, when you had Lester going against Chen, you deserve to lose anyway.

this team is just not able to get out of its funk and its costing us some crucial games.... if its 1 -2 games a month i can get that. but the bleeding has not stopped. and no one is stepping up. Lester again couldnt keep it a tie game and offense became putrid once again for 6+ innings.

Byrd is becoming more of a liability. how can he be doing any better than someone who is defensively better at pawtucket.. get some kids up Iggy Lavarnway and Bradley if he has the arm atleast to solidify Center field. let go of Albers and get Tazawa back.

how can the FO be so blind not to see this.. every game counts.

wonder if we should have grabbed him when atlanta was shipping him out but being our luck he would be getting tanked here in boston too .. seems like whatever is going on in that clubhouse is not gelling and if that chemistry is not there .. no matter what its not going to work. need a spark from somewhere.. anywhere.
