What a difference...now if they would just not miss the pitches they are getting when they get the count there way...we might have something...they might have waited to long though

We can't just keep throwing money at people though. We have Sweeney' date=' Ross, Byrd, and Darnell already. It'd just be a log jam.[/quote']I don't think Abreu would cost anything other than the waiver price. The Angels released him and they are responsible for his salary.

Still, I think we can survive with what we have now without bringing in abreu.

5-1. Great. Well this game is over.

We just cannot allow 5 or 6 runs against this popgun offense.

We can if we get 7-8 runs and that is frankly what this team is designed to do. That is how this edition of the Sox is supposed to win games...frustrating I know but none the less true.

Let look at the math. If we have to get 7 runs per game to win we would score 1134 runs in the season. Our killer offense in 2004 scored only 949. Fact is, with this kind of pitching we are not making the playoffs.

I know...just frustrated by the fact that they have only managed 1 run here tonight....at least so far.

Only Minnesota has worse pitching in the AL than we do statistically right now. Could change, but right now, our pitching is not only not fine, it stinks. Statistically.

Our rotation has been solid and the bullpen can only get better. Since new York, our staff has been solid.

Dear god I hope you are correct.:(

Well melancon is in aaa getting his s*** together and Thomas is gone so they already are when you think about it.

Yes, our ERA has improved in the last 8 games. Coming into tonite its 3.55. But look who we have been playing: the Twins, the White Sox, and the A's. These teams rank 10, 11, and 14 in offense in the AL. Not very impressive against popgun offenses.

It's still progress and we've already dumped some of the dead weight by ditching Thomas and having melancon get his s*** together in the minors where's he's been lights out from what I've been hearing. Aceves is coming around, hills back, tazawa was pitching well, and atchison can eat innings with morales handling lefties well enough.

Where would we put him. I doubt he's much of an outfielder anymore.

Yup. Progress is being made. Of course, we had only one way to go from where we were, right?

Can't believe we sent down Tazawa, one of the few pretty consistently effective bullpen pitchers.

If Lars can be trusted with a glove in LF and AGon with a glove in RF, Abreu can find a fit.

It was only because he still had options. He'll be back soon enough.

I wouldn't let him anywhere near fenways right field. What's he been hitting this year? I know la cut him for a reason.

Maybe it just wasn't in the cards tonight. Would like to see them move out of the basement soon though.

We have bard going tomorrow and Lester the oriole killer and Beckett lined up to face Baltimore. We are still in good shape.

They cut him because they were bringing up Trout and their DH spot was full with Trumbo and Morales rotating through. Abreu can still reach base and pop the occasional HR

Well look at it this way, if the yankoffs don't capitalize on the usual 9th inning umpiring help, they lose to the O's and it all washes out.
