One of the writers should ask Valentine why no PH there after this one is over. It might be interesting to hear his reasoning. I have no idea what he is thinking there. Shoppach cannot hit. We didn't get him for his offensive prowess.

Has it been proven to be slower? I know the old addage that it is, and that sprinters would do it if it was faster, but a) sprinters aren't racing to put their foot on a line on the ground, they are trying to get any part of their body over a pre-determined spot and (i.e., the 'finish line' concept is different between sports) and B) watching a sprinter dive head first on pavement would be a really bloody mess.

 

It could be that it is slower, but I haven't actually seen this varified.

It feels good to watch baseball games all day. I love this feeling. Plus the Yankees are losing. Got to love it.

 

My wife has been subtly giving me s*** all day... long game, beautiful day outside. Garden needs planting, kitchen needs cleaning, but I'm risking home-happiness by watching this game.

 

Man, I wish life was easy. :lol:

I vaguely remember reading something about it actually being a fraction of a second slower but I'm not sure where. In any case, given the risk of injury I dont think it would be worth it even if it were faster
