Great win, and good to see Tex finally get on track. Unfortunately we're dropping like flies. Robertson is getting an MRI on his side after straining it a week ago. Nova sprained his ankle. Rapada passed out in the dugout due to a viral illness and Ibanez was removed after a HBP

So.... just got back from a short vacation. Couldnt watch the games, pretty glad I couldnt. From the looks of it on gamecast, Hughes was throwing darts but couldnt put anyone away quickly and got out after a mildly effective 5.1IP. But 4 runs scored in 3 games vs the detritus we faced is just abysmal. It hurts when Tex is an auto out. He isnt this bad and he will break out, but it wont be tonight since he isnt in the lineup. That being said, he is due for a 10HR month and he is usually hot in June.

Also, still puzzled by Kuroda. He seems to alternate awful and dominant starts. It isnt the stuff, it is the location. When he is on, he isnt beatable. When he isnt on, though, he is abused. The mark of a good pitcher is a guy who can beat the opponent or give his team a chance to win without his best stuff. Thus far, this season, Kuroda hasnt done that. He's pitching as an effective #4 starter, but right now, he is lined up as the #2. As was the problem last season, our #2 spot seems to alternate between a cast of 4 characters. We need someone to step up into that role this yr for us to be good. We have won all but one of our starter's quality starts this yr, so most of our issues are on the SP's. We just need them to get their s*** together, cause it isnt for lack of ability or track record. Our offense needs a kick in the ass as well, and we know it is coming, but listening to it was painful. Cmon Yanks, you are better than this.

WHAT THE f*** IS THE POINT OF A BACKUP CATCHER IF HE CANNOT CATCH AND THROW! Unf***ingbelievable beginning to this game. f*** you Chris Stewart, I hope you burn in hell for all eternity!

Boo the ever living s*** out of this pathetic f***ing team. Swisher cannot hit a f***ing flyball with ARod on third and one out. Of course he K's, what else will he do. This f***ing team needs to take a serious shot of Winstrol, every f***ing one of them

Could be worse. You could have a starting catcher who can't catch and throw.

your backup must have a good skill. He cannot be a no bat, no glove player. First batter of the game K's, the catcher drops the ball that should have hit him in the chest then he proceeds to fire the ball in the stands. Just a bad, bad play. Good thing Pettitte is vintage tonight and he recovered

Nova is driving me f***ing crazy. He went from being a contact pitcher with big time stuff who could avoid the walk to a strikeout pitcher who has become more wild. He needs to remember what made him good last yr. He needs to start pitching down in the f***ing zone and pitching to contact. He doesnt need to go for the K unless the situation dictates.

Good to see the Yankees are making mediocre pitchers look like Cy Young candidates. WTF, first Chen, then Drabek, then some guy named Henderson, last night Arroyo and now Bailey. Seriously, this is f***ing depressing

It's pretty embarassing when Jayson Nix is hitting in a clutch spot of a game. That being said, the guy got a hit, but we shouldnt have these scrubs hitting in big moments of any game. That error by Phelps really hurt us here and we saw two big time performers put up abysmal ABs with the game on the line. Jeter swinging first pitch and nearly GIDPing, then Grandy working the count to 3-0. Swinging 3-0 at a pitchers pitch, swinging 3-1 at a ball in the dirt then swinging 3-2 and topping a ball to Votto to end it. You take there unless the ball is down the f***ing middle on 3-0 and 3-1, especially with your best hitter on deck in Cano. Bad baseball there from Jeter and Grandy and the mediocrity continues

So he's kind of like Bard, except in reverse.

If Bard was putting up Nova's numbers, I would say to stick with it since he is showing power. But yes, Bard is the Anti-Nova for everything except the walks, which they both are in on

Isn't this about the time you went on our game thread last night and told us it must really sting to get Papelburned when he had to face Shoppach, Byrd and Punto?
