Being a vegetarian doesn't stop you from eating pizza' date=' ice cream, french fries, cakes, etc.[/quote']

Also, it's probably a lot harder for him to eat healthy while on the road. When his teammates can order chicken and a side salad, he's stuck with pasta and not much else. My guess is that his diet is carb heavy due to a lack of options.

This is not true. MLB players have access to catering services that pretty much serves them anything they want. Fielder's options are as good as they get regarding his vegetarian diet. He's fat because he wants to be.

Well, being a vegetarian for almost half my life, I know how limited the options are even at the best restaurants and best catering services. More often than not, the veggie options are pasta or a greasy "grilled" veggie plate.

I highly doubt the options are that limited for the ballplayers.

Well, I'm sure that my ex (huge Tigers fan) will be more than happy about this, and will miss no opportunity to rub it in my face. I guess I'll just have to remind her that Detroit leads the league in fatties who can't run fast, if at all.

The Rangers are the best team in the AL, Morales hasn't played in over a year, Trumbo doesn't get on base, and you're overrating the bullpen.

I understand that you're a Yankees fan, but you can be objective about it: The Yankees have more question marks than both the Rangers and the Tigers.

Rangers have more questions in their rotation. Darvish is a question mark coming over to the states. Holland increased his innings by over 71 innings last year. Matt Harrison increased his inings by 37 as well. Feliz is moving back to the rotation from the pen, after being bounced around much like Joba. You act like the Rangers are the greatest team ever created cause they have all sure fire things. They don't, they have just as many question marks, if not more than the Yankees and Tigers.

You must live in the sticks.... almost all places even have a vegan menu these days. Heck fast food places even have stuff for vegetarians now.

With the Pujols, Tex and now Fielders deals out there, Agons contract may be the biggest bargain in all of baseball for 1B lol

They have a fantastic offense, fantastic bullpen, good starting pitching and good starting pitching and less questions about health all around.

Darvish is not as much of a question mark as Pineda and Kuroda, Feliz will be their #5, and you can bet between him and Ogando they will be better than Garcia, Holland's increase in innings was consistent with his jump from the previous year with no ill consequences, that point is moot. Feliz is not Joba. Much better body type and no prior injury history. Apples to oranges. An increase of thirty innings for a starter will bring ill effects? Absolutely ridiculous.

They also have SP depth in Feldman and Ogando himself. Meaning they are seven-deep in starters with no injury or performance questions.

In the end, it's about objectivity. You are not objective.

Also, attributing the comment of "Texas, greatest team ever!!!" is laughable. If you need to employ ridiculous hyperbole to defend your argument, your argument if probably wrong. I said that the top of the AL is crowded, but the Rangers are the best team, plain and simple. They have been to the WS in consecutive seasons for a reason.

Veggie burger with fries/pasta/grilled veggies is not a menu. There are options, but they are boring, especially when you're travelling. I've lived in SF, LA, Boston and think I have a good idea what I'm talking about.

They probably WILL be able to move them. It will just take a crane or a bulldozer or something. :D

I've never been to the US, so I'm not about to doubt what you said. I was just thinking about fast food places here in Australia though, and they almost all have a pretty decent range of vegetarian options. McDonalds have their whole healthy range with salads, wraps, etc. Subway have salads, or you can always get a salad sub. Pizza places all have vegetarian pizza options. I think about the only place where you can't find something vegetarian-friendly is at KFC, outside of the coleslaw and potato and gravy that is.

It's funny to me that we have these options available when restaurants in the US, which is where most of these places were established in the first place, are apparently still lacking behind.

When I went to London in 99, the options were better there than 2011 in the US. Granted, it's getting a lot better. My only point was that it would be harder for Prince Fielder to find a healthy option than an omnivore player. If he's eating at McDonalds on road trips, he's going to be worse on than non-vegetarians.

My cousin is a Rangers fan after their last two seasons. He basically feels that "Texas, greatest team ever!!!" isn't laughable, in fact, he thinks it's the 11th commandment now.

After seeing them go to the series twice, but not win it yet, he feels as though the team has some 'underdog' appeal as well.

What are you talking about, the Tigers have the best Offensive Line of any NFL Team. They just move Miggy and Fielder cross town to Ford Stadium when their bats slow down.

I guess if I have to explain my joke it wasn't that good....It was a fat joke.

Ahh I was confused at first.. I think I got it after the fact though.

That makes no sense.

Actually everyone in my family was raised on the braves thanks to my grandfather. I jumped ship in the early 90s when I saw Roger Clemens pitch a few games. I was a little league pitcher then, and I wanted to be just like Roger the Rocket. So I followed the Sox every change I got, and here I am.

I think it's much stranger to go Braves-Rangers than Braves-Red Sox though.
