Here's an article that they can put up for a slow news day: "Red Sox fans never again want to see Bogar coach 3rd base."

Ha yeah basically. At least on the bench he may not be as harmful.. I guess that remains to be seen.

This means what?

The team you were hyping up to be better than the Sox was not the Rays, it was the Angels. But for the record, Tampa does have its fair share of question marks.

Well UN?, as I said, Cherington's words are pretty clear to me. We are running with more QM than other teams in the paper. That was pretty much the point of the discussion we were having, wasn't it?

On the other hand, and as I said, a lot of analysts and bookies put LAA above us in the running for the POs and the ring, reason why I believe LAA have less questions in that regard than us. Yes, Games must be played, only time will tell.

There's a breaking rumor that the Red Sox are working to trade Scutaro to the Rockies. No other details yet.
Yup, Big News!

Rockies Nearing Deal For Marco Scutaro

By Ben Nicholson-Smith [January 20 at 4:25pm CST]

The Rockies are nearing a deal for infielder Marco Scutaro, Troy Renck of the Denver Post tweets. The teams are talking and the Rockies are trying to complete the trade. The veteran infielder would presumably play second base if the Rockies acquire him.

Scutaro, 35, set career highs in batting average and slugging percentage for a .299/.358/.423 line in 445 plate appearances in 2011. He also had a career-best 8.1% strikeout rate and finished with more walks (38) than strikeouts (36). Only seven shortstops have contributed more wins above replacement than Scutaro (12.7) since 2008, according to FanGraphs’ version of the statistic. The Red Sox exercised their $6MM option for him after the season.

Yes' date=' Aviles with Punto as the back up.[/quote']

Hmm...

I can't say I'm psyched about that. If Oswalt is the result then I'm not upset I suppose...

I would also be okay if they went ahead and signed Oswalt to a multi-year deal. He's only 34.

I wouldn't mind to give Iglesias another shot and share the load with Aviles and Punto as long as we bring another SP.

Would anyone be disappointed if the Sox just put Iglesias at SS and punted on ofense? I mean, Aviles is a better bat (by far) but defense first at SS isn't a horrible idea when pitching/defense is your biggest concern. Aviles's defense is really mediocre, right?

Plus, he's on a major league contract.

You probably haven't seen those commercials about slow blackberry service, huh?

It's a funny poke at people who are 4 seconds behind.

I would bring the kid up and play him. And they don't have to punt on offense. They were no. 1 or 2 in offense last year. SS ain't gonna make or break their offense, but it might improve their pitching. Aviles' defense is probably average at SS. The kid Iglesias looks like an all-star defensively.

Trade talk smack in the middle of Happy Hour? No way! Benny Boy is bellied up to the bar telling the bartender how easy his job is. After he read the paper in the morning, he had lunch, a nap and he putted golf balls around the office until he went for his workout at 4:30 and called it a day.

Newsflash: Most analysts and bookies are idiots.
