^ This is quite funny. Is ORS saying that iortiz and me are the same poster' date=' and that when I am posting as iortiz, I use a Spanish accent, or is he saying that iortiz uses a Brooklyn accent when he posts as me? Very funny. I am laughing at you on this especially because you did not intend it in any humor.[/quote']

Like I said, I will say what I mean, and I did not call you the same person. I said I can't tell the difference between you, and it was clearly in a joking manner. You figure it out.

That fact does not detract from how true the observation is.

I know exactly what i say, how i say it and when i say it. I take posts from where they come.

Here's the thing: You are a grade-A *******. You think that all of the negative ******** you spew is the complete and absolute truth, and you combine yourself with the rest of your crew to create a shitstorm of negative ******** that turns this board damn near unreadable.

I take everything you say as an insult, because it usually is a thinly-veiled insult. Or an outright insult. You have no moral standing to call anyone out on anything in this board.

When i say something, i mean it as such, without any second intention.

When i want to call a poster stupid, i will call him stupid, and not the specific idea which i am quoting. I do not give a flying f*** how you and your crew interpret it.

And for the record, i don't consider a700 to be stupid, even though i do consider him to be extremely annoying.

If I asked someone to take the time to explain a complicated concept to me--say, the theory of gravity--and I struggled to comprehend what they said, I would take it upon myself to read from the source material and gather from it what I could, rather than highlighting inconsistencies in those who did their best to explain the theory.

I certainly wouldn't question whether the person who I initally asked to explain it knew the concepts he or she was talking about by saying "some claim to know this gravity concept...".

Go read the book if you are having trouble understanding it. It is nowhere near as complicated as the theory of gravity.

Having read the book multiple times, and having read about the influence of it and used it to increase my understanding of the game, I--like others here--contend that you misued the term, and applied it when it wasn't relevant to the discussion.

Rebuilding and moneyball are different. A true rebuild takes years, and in the time that takes players still need to take the field. That doesn't mean those players are the manifestation of the broader approach. It's not an all or nothing thing.

Who is saying the opposite E1? On the other hand, Rebuilding a team no necessary takes a lot of time.

As I said, you can rebuild a team with the moneyball approach. You can rebuild a team with the moneyball approach at some positions. Is Theo applying this approach this offseason in order to star this "rebuilding"? This questions is a matter of opinion, isn't it?

Posts like this are what gets people banned. Name calling has no place here or on any forum. Its pretty obvious that you have the intelligence level of an orangutang and the personality of a paranoid schizophrenic.

I think this board would be a better place without the displeasure of your nauseating presence.

Do you want me to find some examples of you calling people who express a positive view of the team names? Because i can.

Where was the misunderstanding in his responses to me? There wasn't one. His post with all the smiley faces illustrated that he was merging the responses of three different posters into a mellange that he found contradictory. Well, no s***.

Not so!

If its a good joke, the subject ought to recognize that and react accordingly!

Sure. Why don't you do that.

Because that would give everyone else a few minutes of time without having to read the trash you write here while you are doing your homework.

Don't lower yourself to his level. He'll get himself banned on his own. I predicted that the day I put him on ignore. For selfish reasons, I hope he doesn't get banned, because he always comes back with a new identity. If he stays, I don't have to ID him in the future.

I don't know, you tell me. Just 5 minutes ago you told me you were laughing at me. Again with the double standard. When will we see the triple you referred to yesterday?

Yeah, you're right. He is a sick man. I am not going to put anyone on ignore here, but if I were going to do it, he would be number one.

Back to baseball.

Yesterday in response to my post where I said that I like to have a few laughs when I post, you made it very clear that you too like to have a few laughs but you laugh at me not with me. I guess it went right over your head. My fault for not communicating it clearly the first time.

Look, its making me dizzy watching you laugh at Ortiz who is watching you laughing at him while you laugh back. This is not comedy night at TalkSox. Everyone should stop laughing.

About Epstein: he was TERRIBLE when it came to FA acquisitions, and mediocre when it came to drafting and developing minor league players. Mediocre means mediocre for a contending team. He did better with some of his trades. Whether he has a game plan that is likely to succeed with the Cubs remains to be seen, but if history is any indicator of success, he will fail with them too. He left the Sox in a real mess.

What a hypocrite.

"Cock-eyed optimists" "FO ballwashers". Etc etc etc.

If anyone's sick here, it's you, with that unnaturaly inflated ego. Who do you remind me of? Oh, wait....

The Marlins and Cubs had almost identical records in 2011. Their approaches to the off season have been starkly different. You have termed the Cubs approach as a rebuild. What would you call the marlins approach? And does a GM abandon money ball philosophy in one and not the other. You said in an earlier post that Theo would be employing an analysis to his moves where he is looking for undervalued assets. The fact that he has not made any big acquisitions to improve his team is probably indicative of the fact that he didn't see any good values available. Certainly, if he did, he would have acted on them. Ridding the team of bad contracts doesn't preclude also making value acquisitions during the same off season... does it? You have been telling me for years that Theo walks on water, but now he can't walk and chew gum at the same time? He can't divest assets and acquire assets during the same off season? Of course he can. He just has not seen value assets under his philosophy so he hasn't made any acquisitions.

The Marlins did not wait for undervalued assets to hit the market. They paid full fair market value (some would argue that they paid above market value) to make acquisitions to improve the team to bring the fans into the new stadium. They didn't have the luxury of waiting like Theo thinks he does.

Well, you saved me a lot of time at the dictionary.

If the fish make a great paper next season, their rebuilding process won't take that long. Hell, this fish will be very exciting to watch, at least in the paper.

Yup. To the point that we are clogged in our payroll. His leadership and management was horrible in the last 3 years of his tenure. Some, charge this mess (FA signings) to LL. Anyway, Maybe he has learned the lesson. We'll see.

To be perfectly honest, I really don't care what Epstein does with the Cubs. He can no longer hurt the Red Sox. Thats most important. I am suspicious of his chances for success over there because of his history here, just as I am suspicious of Cherington because he was trained by Epstein. But you gotta give him time to see how it all plays out. So far Cherington gets an "incomplete".

I need to see the offseason ended and then emit an opinion about Ben. As I said, if we stay short in pitching because Ortiz contract (lack of money) he will be the boob.

Right now this club is worse than last year's team. I had hopes at the beginning of the hot stove that with BV's hiring they were serious and had a chance at contending. However with Ben's filling pitching holes with has beens, never wases, and never will bes, whatever optimism I had is fleeting quickly.

Have a question for JacksonianMarch if he is out there today.

Have been reading from a NY blog today that the Yanks are considering expanding their budget for this year. The piece basically said that the Yanks have not been involved or engaged with any of of the FA's left on the board because they have not wanted to expand their budget. I guess at 50% tax rate the league has finally hit on a number that even compels the Yanks to push back from the table.

I have to admit I was simply looking at the Yankees player by player as the media would report that the Yanks were not involved in discussions with one guy or the other but I did not think they had put the brakes on completely. As for the story that they are considering expanding their budget, I am taking that with a grain of salt. Might be true...might not. Was not even thinking about Yanks spending in these terms to begin with.

Anyway presuming that the Yanks unwillingness to expand the budget has been real I am wondering how Yankee fans have accepted that in New York. Has there been a shrill outcry demanding more spending or have fans mostly been accepting? Has the Giants in the post season combined with the Jets soup opera been enough of a distraction that it has dampened fan interest and outcry for the moment? Has that not been a factor one way or the other?

It's should be clear to anyone with half a brain that this team cannot contend for a playoff spot this year. But that won't stop ownership from fluffing things up nicely for the clueless pollyannas and rumpswabs. As soon as Cherington gets done scratching his one dollar lottery tickets the FO contingency of media lackies will barrage us with their embellished predictions and fictional scenarios that will all (surprise, surprise) add up to this team being a 95 win team. We can write the script now.
