This an unprecedented collapse. It is worse than anything that I have witnessed in 45 years of rooting for the Sox. For those of you who thought being a Sox fan before 2004 was tough, I can tell you that this will be the worst collapse ever, by far.

I don't think many Sox fans believe that the Sox deserve to make the playoffs. Clearly its the Yanks and Rays that have shown the most heart.

Rays haven't shown any heart. They just happened to beat a team that's really struggling. They still suck ass. There is no team A deserves it more than team B. The team that gets there deserves it simple as that.

Not many teams can go through what we went through and still be in line to get to the postseason. If you've seen some of the pitchers ERA, wins, etc. It's a f***ing blessing to be where we are. People rip the offense all the time but it's played a big part of our success and I don't think enough people realize it.

After all the hype this offseason we will get a lot of s*** if we collapse. And I mean a lot.

Maybe tonight Tito tells us that this will make the champagne taste even sweeter. If he says that, I'm done with baseball for 2011, because that will signal the end to me.

All I wanted was for the Sox to pull the magic number down by 2 today. The Yankees can still help us out.

But regardless, I'm not sure that this team will win a single game in New York this weekend. All while the Angels are playing the A's and the Jays are visiting TB.

Be thankful that you are an optimist. I have been feeling this despair for more than 2 weeks.

optimist on the outside. realist on the inside. it's absolutely crushing. watching the entire season unravel in front of our eyes.

If we lose the wildcard is this up for consideration as one of the biggest chokes in regular season history?

Well if we do, at least we don't have the satisfaction of having the biggest choke in the playoffs? :dunno:

No consideration necessary. It is far and away the biggest choke job.

Nothing is impossible, but in reality, we have nothing to throw at the Yankees this weekend... nothing. It's pathetic.

I think the Sox win 3 or 4 of their last 6. They have no choice now, and they wont have the Boston media on their ass. The Jays can give TB some trouble, and the Angels still have the Rangers left....
