I would think that this is the kind of pitcher that Gonzo would feast on. Tons of offspeed stuff and Gonzo usually stays behind the ball well. I can't believe he's missed him today.

We'll probably score 2-3 runs and see the sox pen for at least 2 innings. The problem is, right now, Garcia is meat. If I were Girardi, I'd have a reliever warm in the 5th again akin to what he did on Friday. We have a shutdown pen again, it's time to use the strength

He scored on POS' single before Ells came up.

 

You're comparing Reddicks AB to Ellsbury's AB. Because you're doing this, you insert Ellsbury's AB into Reddick's slot. If Reddick would have done what Ellsbury did, Youk would have scored.

If I were a father of a kid who could understand baseball (my kid is 2 months old), I'd show them Beckett's start and teach them that his way of attacking good hitters is the way to go. Most pitchers are afraid to elevate the ball to Tex because he can hit it out, but if you only operate below the belt, you shorten the window that Tex needs to protect. Beckett throws a riding 2 seamer up and out of the zone that gets the lefties to chase

The only reason we were comparing it was because I said it was an awful AB by Reddick, and MVP said it was no worse than Ellsbury's.

Garcia pitched the AB to Reddick perfectly. He hit the down and away corner then went down and in for the K. With Ells, he elevated the ball and got the popup
