It's happened all season. His defense is crap this year.

 

He doesn't seem like a smart guy, based on his press conferences. He has the raw talent to excel in LF, but we probably won't see him shine defensively until next year.

Meh... he's been fine. He's playing where they tell him to. Outfielders move around all the time based on each hitter's tendencies and coaching strategies. Have to expect Chavez to pull it there... just bad luck he slapped at it enough to go the other way.

Well you don't notice all the plays he makes because he plays shallow. He was probably trying to take away a little flare right there with 2 strikes against a LHP. He was positioned well there.

It's hard to notice because he's just not making any.

 

I'm not trying to be down on him, but his defense just seems to be lacking. Maybe he'll get used to it eventually, but we'll see.
