Reddick is gonna take the RF spot. His swing looks much improved from years past and his plate discipline has improved as well. He isnt walking a ton, but he isnt chasing the balls down and away.

I always love the ball off his bat, they're rockets usually. But the patient approach was something he needed to work on.

Has anyone noticed anything different about John tonight? Velocity, different pitch choices, any ideas as to why he's so good tonight? There's a good pitcher buried somewhere in there, I know it.

Reddick is another example of how to break a kid into the bigs. He got some ABs after dominating the minors. He was overmatched. The sox didnt overexpose him, though. They proved to a minor leaguer who had proven everything in the minors that he still has something to work on. The kid obviously went to the minors, worked on his pitch selectivity and his talent shone through. Now, he looks like a big leaguer rather than an overmatched kid. The Yankees need to learn from this. Sometimes, you have to prove to the kid that he isnt ready

I don't really pay attention to the mechanics of a pitcher but his cutter is on point tonight.

No one has mentioned it but I'll be the first to break the ice.

Despite your s***** season that was a great performance by Lackey. Only allowed 3 hits, 1 walk and threw 7 k's. Some will still say he sucks I can say I disagree but I have to give credit where it's due.

He's still got it, just needs to find it on a consistent basis.

Agreed, but TF insists on his damn platooning logic that doesn't apply here since the other hitter bats .100. He needs to play everyday and once and for all know if we need to invest in another RF. I think that he has shown enough arguments in order to get that spot.

He didnt suck at all tonight. He was solid

Definetely. Just didn't want to start a war again giving Lackey credit.

Of course he's got it. NO ONE on this forum expected Lackey to pitch like this when we picked him up. He hasn't been what we paid for but he's better than this. Lackey is very capable of pitching like he did today more often. Not sure what his problem is like I said I don't really pay attention to a pitchers mechanics but I'm sure he'll pitch better.

Probably just needs to get his head straight. He's had a handful of great starts this year and a few decent ones. I think going into the break will help him greatly especially with this start on his mind. We can, and I'm confident we will, get a productive John Lackey out of the remaining time on his deal.

If Lackey can keep his pitches off the middle of the plate and only pitch against AAAA teams, he'll do just fine.

Platooning ONLY makes sense when a player can't hit LHP/RHP. That isn't the case with Reddick, he's crushing LHP. This is just a case of Tito being way too soft and not being able to bench/get rid of junk he has a hard on for.

What we take away from this game:

Lackey can still pitch, he just needs to figure s*** out and work on repeating.

No more DMac, it's Reddicks time in Fenway. When CC gets back, JD needs to become the 4th OF. I don't care how much money he is making, you have to go with your best option (especially when the option is the future...)

Of course Buck will stop talking once he's 17 games back.

It was cute when those scamps were above .500 in May and their fans thought this season would be different.

Agreed.. He can hit both RH/LH... but TF thinks the opposite, why? I don't know... or what is his damn logic in send McD against LHP and Reddick against RH?, As I said, DMcD bats .180 against LH and .050 against RH anyway.

EDIT: BTW Reddick against LHP starters .500 and against RHP starters .357

No he mentioned it during the offseason. He said it was nice beating our ass because we spend so much money(what a dumbass he was with the Yankees). I find it funny how he says he enjoys beating our ass when the Orioles aren't even a threat in the AL.

If we could create some sort of energy converter' date=' VA mojo could be harnessed and provided as an infintiely self-renewing source of power. The world's energy problems could be solved. GET ON IT.[/quote']
