Ortiz is our best ofensive player except for AGon. I would have batted him there with two men on and none out. He gives you a much better chance of succeeding and having a big inning than Salty does.

Tito will be very lucky if he has another opportunity to bat Ortiz with men on base so he can't be pitched around. He blew it. Ortiz might as well have stayed home in Boston and caught up on his rest.

While that may be true, you can't pinch hit for a guy who's been tearing it up for the whole month. Just take your chances with Salty and hope he keeps it going. It didn't, but that was the right move. Save Ortiz for the 8th/9th innings. I have a feeling he's going to come up in a big spot later this game.

I don't care if Salty is 10 for his last 10. Ortiz is an elite offensive player. You have to pick a spot for him to succeed. That was it. Good luck getting him an AB in the 9th with men on base if Hanrahan is pitching
