I disagree. I don't care if Salty is 10 for his last 10. Ortiz is an elite offensive player. You have to pick a spot for him to succeed. That was it. Good luck getting him an AB in the 9th with men on base if Hanrahan is pitching

 

Agree to disagree on that. With it only being the 6th inning I'm going with the guy that's been hot. Now if that was in the 8th, maybe the 9th I would be fine with Ortiz pinch hitting in that spot, but not only a little over halfway into the game.

 

I wonder if Hanrahan is available for a third straight.

This is still not the best spot for Ortiz to take an AB. With 1st and 3rd, he basically needed just to make contact not to fail completely. Here a groundball is a total failure= 2 outs.
