Crawford's MRI showed a "Grade 1 Hamstring Strain". I didn't know the severity of this, so I looked it up -

Grade 1:

What does it feel like? Might have tightness in the thigh May be able to walk properly Probably won't have much swelling Lying on front and trying to bend the knee against resistance probably won't produce much pain

What can the athlete do? Use a compression bandage or heat retainer until you feel no pain See a sports injury professional who can advise on rehabilitation and strengthening

What can a Sports Injury Specialist or Doctor do? Use sports massage techniques to speed up recovery (very important) Use ultrasound and electrical stimulation Prescribe a rehabilitation programme

Recovery time? About 2 to 4 weeks depending on severity and if middle of muscle or at tendon joint

But Wiki said this -

Grade one injuries if not put pressure upon can heal in a time period of 2 to 3 days.

Well, either way, a few days off may not be so bad for CC. He's been in a mini slump the past week, so he can use the time to clear his head in addition to healing up. Also, it'll be good for Darnell to get some ABs. Nothing we can't overcome IMO.

Nice to see the bats come alive after a brief nap in Tampa. Lackey settled down very nicely for the last 5 innings and actually put together a solid outing. I am slowly gaining some semblance of faith in him.

Hopefully Crawford is fine after a couple days off, and hopefully Youkilis can restrain himself from puking on the field to play tomorrow.

And YOTN needs to post in the GT more often, that was a fun read.

Awesome.

AND I'm going to the game on Sunday where they'll be honoring the Bruins. I hope they bust out the cup.

They probably will. I was at the game when they honored the Celtics after their title, and the trophy was there.

It's true. An opposing team's manager once asked the umpire to examine Gonzalez's bat for corking. When they split it open' date=' all they found was the lightning of Zeus himself, fashioned into a Louisville Slugger. There were no survivors from the attempt.[/quote']

Crawford's game is predicated on speed. If the legs are weak, he's useless. He will likely need at least 5-7 days off

I agree. The good thing is the Sox have guys like McDonald and Cam who are more than capable of holding the fort down. Another plus is the absolute domination of the far inferior Yankees this year. The Sox are so much stronger there is no need to rush anyone back from an injury. The Yankees staff is absolutely laughable and their pen is as thin as their purple-lipped 3rd baseman's skin.

One is hitting .130 and the other .150... Good thing' date=' huh?[/quote']

It's .280 if you add them together. :dunno:

Also, so Crawford's injury isn't serious?

McDonald has been hitting the ball very well since he returned from the DL.

Cameron.. just sucks.

I'd prefer Reddick all day!

Seriously stupidest thing i've ever heard. They are both useless. Cameron more than Mcdonald but still both suck. Of course Crwaford sucks too though ;)
