I have officially began operation Fire Francona.

 

I have decided to make a website http://www.FireFrancona.com to express the frustrations he has put us through over the years.

 

I would love some thoughts and ideas for the web site along with anyone who would like to participate in making this.

What does money have to do with it? I'm sure there are hundreds of minor league/college coaches with significant talent that could handle this team better. When the majority of this team is putting up career worsts, and when this many bad coaching moves are made, it stands out.

What were his specific contributions there, though? It wasn't like he was making brilliant moves to get them those championships. He had the horses, and the talent won on the field. I'll admit, he's a good post-season manager, because he actually starts to manage the game. In the regular season, however, he does a good deal of harm by undermanaging the team in clear spots that require management (the 7-run rule) and then out of the blue overmanaging at odd times (pulling Hill when he's effective to play platoon matchups).

 

Time for a change, IMO.

Most of those were jokes, I liked Farell but he isn't and probably wasn't an option.

 

You are right there is no specific person who could be our savior but I don't think Francona is doing any good for this team or organization.

By that logic we should all cut Lugo some slack because he was decent in 2007 and Dale Sveum isn't a s***** base coach because he coached in 2004

Joe Maddon imo is the best "Manager" in the game. He treats every game like its a playoff game and that is why they are so successful. He does his homework and plays match ups. He has a team full of s*** bum, washed up, and young players yet they still dominate bc he knows how to manage a baseball game.

So the fact that Francona was sitting on his ass chewing tobacco while the Sox won it all means he was irrelevant to the Sox winning those titles. But now, he's doing the exact same thing, only the team is losing. So him sitting on his ass in the dugout, chewing and spitting, must be the cause.
