Crawford will end up doing fine. I highly doubt he ends up as being worth $20+ mil per yr' date=' but he'll be fine in LF[/quote']

I agree. In another year, Crawford isn't capable of extracting a $20+ mil deal. Free agency last year was weak overall.

Carl doesn't play back enough. Too many catchable Fenway balls falling behind him. Where's that gold glove?
You don't play deep in LF in Fenway. That's not the way to play it. You also don't challenge the scoreboard on a flyball. The scoreboard will win.

Really? That ball off the wall wasn't behind him, it was over him.

Yep. Looked like he was throwing it much better early but dropped off the cliff late with his location.

It seemed like he was struggling with command most of the game. But he fought through the game, even when he didn't have his best stuff, and I liked what I saw. He also hit the under on home runs too, at 0

I saw the replay, Crawfor would have needed to get back to the wall and then jump as high as he could to catch that. Remy said it hit off the base of the wall, but it hit about 8-10 feet up the wall

Was not 8 ft Doc.

Balls have landed on the warning track behind him. Pathetic.

Move him to right if his speed will be wasted at Fenway.

I just remember everyone saying how nothing will fall in in left this year and it hasn't been the case.

His ABs are terrible. He is an automatic out.

He doesn't appear to be fearsome at all on offense. He doesn't hit the ball hard with any consistency at all. He also watches too many strike 3s.

This offense is frustrating.

Could have had Russell Martin for $3 million. I still don't understand why they didn't sign him. After spending close to $300 million on two players, it seemed like a no brainer to spend $3 million, if for no other reason than to keep him from the Yankees.

Not sold on RuMart after watching him the previous 3 years in LA. He's not much of a defensive catcher and has a lot of injury issues. Salty has a higher upside, but he might not get there.

Martin has more HRs than any player on the Red Sox does right now...

Oh well that totally changes my mind then.

Let's see where he is in September.

He also sucked ass the previous 2 years after being run into the ground due to overuse. Just don't see him holding up over the long term.

I'll bet a case of El Presidente (the standard bet on TalkSox) that he has more HRs than Salty does on September 1st.

Martin's bad years are something I would be happy to get from Salty.
