As frustrated as I've been with a Yankees loss in a long time. Going away on 1-2 to Paulino was so stupid. You continue to go inside in that spot ... he'll never be able to pull the trigger on two strikes against Rivera's cutter. The execution there was not the issue. Mo hit his spot.

Lol he still sucks but if it involves the Yankees losing I'm ok with it.

Haha, you know the drill, for the next two games, the Cleveland Guardians become our second favorite team in baseball.

I know. Now we'll have to keep up up for another month.

Girardi f***s up again. Jeter shouldnt be hitting leadoff. And AJ was on his last legs. When he couldnt put away Duncan, he should have gone to the pen. AJ was at 110 pitches and starting to lose some life on his pitches. If he went to the pen for the final out of that inning, we probably win the game

That's what happens when you re-sign a "legend" after his glory days are gone.

Why are the Yankees so damn hard to no hit?

Because everyone in the lineup is a home run hitter

Boo! That's obviously a cheeseburger.

Hughes tonight for the Yankees. Spent 82 days on the DL and I hope that ,after all of the talk of him being improved and having velocity back, he gets absolutely destroyed. It would make me very happy.

I'd be happy too but he's been during pretty good in the minors. We'll see what happens.

The velocity was an improvement though. He was sitting 92-93 up until around 55 pitches. It's understandable that he'd start to tire at that point, considering the length of his minor league rehab outings.

But, on the whole, I've just never been a fan of Hughes. FB with decent life, poor location, and little movement. CB with good location, but loopy to the point where it can't really generate swings and misses. And the cutter and the change are subpar. Tonight was representative of Hughes' entire career as a starting pitcher ... always gets ahead of hitters but can't put them away. Until he finds a way to consistently finish off hitters, he'll never be more than a decent pitcher over the course of a full season.

According to Gameday Hughes fastball averaged less than 90 mph in his first two innings which compromised his first 42 pitches. It wasn't a matter of him tiring as his pitch count rose.
