Sweet, now I move up a ranking. ;) j/k

In all seriousness, depending on the seriousness of the injury, you'd most likely be able to drop him and pick up another starter. I'll talk to Dipre about it, but in my opinion since Wainwright was such an early pick, and since he costs such little salary, I think that you should be able to draft a FA pitcher at ANY salary and not have it count towards the cap. I'm just throwing that idea out there, but we'll see what Dipre thinks. It also depends on how much under the cap you were in the first place.

Wainwright being down for the count affects my team as well, it would seem. Not sure if I still want Kyle McClellan if he's going to win that 5th spot in the Cards' rotation. Swingman, maybe. Starter, probably not.

I'm officially dropping Kyle McClellan, although I think he'll be a decent starter for the Cards. I'm replacing him with someone I wanted to draft initially. I just couldn't find a spot for him on the roster. But now that's all changed, so without further ado:

Kenley Jansen - RP ($400,000)

I'd imagine that Y228 would still need a starter to replace Wainwright. I know that the season already started but I think that Y228 should still get a shot to replace him, but he'd have to do it quickly.

Ok, I updated the chart for your move and Keeper's move. Keep in mind that you guys determine your lineup and rotation order, so just because Pelfrey took Wainwright's spot as the first starter listed, doesn't mean that he'd be your opening day starter.

In addition, with Keeper's picks, if you drop someone you'd still have to pay a portion of their salary in addition to the full salary of the player that you take on.

I think that since the season started we shouldn't allow any more picks, barring a devastating injury which will be handled on a case by case basis. I think that solves everything for now.

Just to be clear, I paid for the players I dropped, as well as the players I added. In fact, I paid the full salaries.

You didn't have to, but most teams are so far under salary that it wouldn't really make a difference.

He'll be back soon enough. I have depth to withstand it.

Besides, we all have 25 players that are likely starters on their teams, so as long as someone gets the games in most teams will be fine. At the end the ratios and splits mean about as much as the counting numbers do when constructing your arguments, so I wouldn't worry too much about something like this. Especially on a top tier team like yours.

What are the rules for adding/dropping players? Can we add whenever' date=' or does it have to because of an injury?[/quote']

It'd have to be because of a serious injury, we're talking season ending.

To be honest that'd give an unfair advantage to people that check this all the time, not to mention that it'd be a lot of pain in the ass transactions, especially when you factor in the salary rules. Again, we can get Dipre's opinion on it, but I want this to be a competition on who drafted the best, not who had the fastest trigger and picked up someone like Ogando.

Barring a season-ending injury, NWIH should people be able to add/drop at this time. During Spring Training, as I did, yes. But not now. If you missed the boat on some guys, too bad.

What if we set a time, like midseason or so, where people can enter a silent bid for players using money available? It might be unfair to spring this now, but I like the idea (maybe we could do this in the future)?
