Yeah, the thing is, there aren't going to be many 'fly under the radar' picks. The participants in this draft know their baseball, and they're not going to let a player be selected numerous rounds after that player should have been picked. I'm not accusing you of this, but the biggest mistake you can make is thinking you're smarter than everyone else, and assuming that you can wait to get players that you really want.

Very true, I was actually debating hard about Cain and Hanson, I was hoping to get both of them with these two picks.

Yeah I definitely was not under the assumption that I was smarter than anyone on here, Hanson just isn't a big name unless you live in the south, so I thought I may catch a bit of an advantage. He was going to be my 3rd round pick, but I've got others in mind. No prob. I was excited about him though.

It's a very expensive contract, but up until this point, my team salary is relatively low. The thought of having the top three pitchers in my starting rotation produce anywhere between a 15-18 WAR is just too tempting, and CC is the last remaining pitcher who you can have confidence in to produce a 5+ WAR on the season.

 

And at least I get to enjoy Lee and Sabathia in one rotation...
