I got to watch the 3rd quarter on the jumbotron while I was in the stadium waiting for Mississippi State and Georgia to start, but they turned it off at the end of the 3rd. Bummer. I had to sit there wondering what was going on for way too long. From what I hear it was an incredible game though, with Mallet severely choking making some really bad throws.

I don't pull for Alabama very much at all (usually about twice a year against Ole Miss and Arkansas) but I absolutely love their focus and intensity for every game. They never get phased by anything, like falling behind 20-7 to Arkansas today. Just play their game whether they're up or down. Nick Saban is hands down the best coach in college football. I really don't see them losing this year - I have a feeling Florida is going to get smashed next week and again in the SEC title game if they are to represent the East.

Also, proud of Mississippi State tonight beating Georgia 24-12. It was 24-6 til UGA got a late garbage time TD, but it's nice to win a big game and get some momentum going. This was a huge step toward a bowl game.

Don't see it. Best recruiter? Easily. Best coach? Possibly, but not hands down. There's a team that has not lost a regular season game in almost 3 years with significantly less talent (albeit against significantly lesser opponents) whose coach deserves some recognition in the "best coach in college football" discussion, IMO. Especially when you watch Peterson's team play. Excellent game plan, and their execution/dicipline always seems to be fantastic. Hate 'em if you must as the BCS buster they threaten to be just about every year, but Boise St has something going on.

Oh, I don't have any hate toward Boise State at all. I've grown to really respect them over the years and how fundementally sound and disciplined they are. Chris Peterson is definitely one of the best coaches in the nation. We could debate all day about how they would fare in X conference (SEC, PAC 10, etc) but as currently constructed they can only play the schedule they're handed, although they'll have a few tougher tests being in the Mountain West starting next year. Speaking of that, just out of curiosity how do you think Boise State would do playing in say, the SEC West?

By the way, I still think Nick Saban is the absolute best all around coach in college football. I wouldn't pick anyone over him. He had a lot of success at Michigan State, national title at LSU, national title at Alabama, and very well may get another this year.

IT WAS f***ING 3RD AND 19 AND YOU HAD TO STOP THEM!

THEY RAN A RUNNING PLAY THEY PICKED UP 35!!!

:lol::lol:

I'm watching Air Force-Navy for obvious reasons. Loving the helmets Air Force is wearing today.

Navy, down 8, will get the ball back with about 1:09 left from the 50 or so. Since they're a run-dominated offense, it should be interesting to see if they can cover that much ground in that time.

No' date=' what happened?[/quote']

Here we go...

14-10 Tennesse, 2nd and goal from the three for LSU with 34-ish seconds left. They bring in QB Jordan Jefferson to some disapproval from the crowd, and he takes a keeper to the right and gets stopped at the one. What occurs next is confusion. They waste the next 25 seconds trying to get a play from the sideline and trying to get new personnel in the game. They finally managed to get lined up to spike the ball with a few seconds left, but the center snaps the ball before the QB is ready and it's a fumble, ball game over. A completely disastrous loss.

... and then you see the ref with a headset on. Tennessee had 13 men on the field and a game can't end on a defensive penalty. And LSU manages to pound the ball in and get the win.

I saw the highlights on ESPN. That was a pretty epic ending.

Did anyone just watch LSU/Tennessee? Most ridiculous ending I've ever seen to a game.

Les Miles continues to be the biggest idiot with a headset yet he still lucks out and wins. There is not a luckier person on the planet than that guy. I hope LSU keeps him for a long time. He's a moron.

Hell of a run for Alabama football, and for Greg McElroy. Left a lot of points off the board, and the young defense simply wasn't up to the task against Spurrier's offense.
