Ok, so we're officially six days away from the college football season kicking off on Saturday and I can no longer contain my excitement. My head may or may not explode on September 4th. Anyway, lets get some college football discussion going, like, now.

Since I go to Mississippi State and am a huge SEC guy in general I went ahead and made some picks, mainly to look back on at the end of the year and see how I did.

West

1. Alabama (11-1, 7-1)

2. Arkansas (9-3, 5-3)

3. Auburn (9-3, 5-3)

4. LSU (8-4, 4-4)

5. Mississippi State (7-5, 4-4)

6. Ole Miss (7-5, 3-5)

East

1. Florida (11-1, 7-1)

2. South Carolina (7-5, 4-4)

3. Georgia (7-5, 3-5)

4. Tennessee (5-7, 3-5)

5. Kentucky (6-6, 2-6)

6. Vanderbilt (2-10, 0-8)

The West is definitely a lot stronger than the East. For example, I think if Mississippi State was in the East we'd have a fairly decent shot at finishing as high as 2nd. However, we're in the West and I have us at 5th. The SEC West is like the AL East on steroids. It's ridiculously better than any other division in college football.

Keep all our college football discussion in this thread throughout the season.

Mark Ingram had knee surgery today and is out for Alabama's season opener vs San Jose State. Won't matter for that game, but they play Penn State in Week 2 and that could be a respectable game.

Jeremiah Masoli DENIED immediately eligibility by the NCAA at Ole Miss!

HAHAHAHA this just made my freaking day.

University of Oregon... making USC look better by the day.

Tomorrow is going to be a late night for me with USC vs. Hawaii starting at 11pm.

usc sucks

oregon is better then them with or without Jeremiah Masoli

Oregon doesn't play defense. Without Masoli, the offense will be plain vanilla. On 10/30, Oregon will be losing at the coliseum.

The way it works in the Pac10 is the Oregon teams lose in L.A. while USC loses in Eugene or Corvallis.

Strongly disagree with that. I think Oregon will still have a very potent offensive attack. LaMichael James is one of the best RB's in the country, and Darron Thomas is a very mobile QB to run that option read offense effectively.

Yes, James is a great back. I'm just not sold on the rest of the offense. Masoli was perfect for their system and was a big loss to their team.

Just got my tickets for both the UMD-Navy and UMD-Morgan State games on Labor Day and next Saturday. Some marquee matchups there.

Morgan State? Superb.

This time in exactly a week I will be at the Mississippi State/Auburn game on ESPN. Can. Not. Wait.

I'm looking forward to the start of the Iowa Hawkeyes' season tomorrow.

I'll have to listen to the game via the internet though. The game is on the Big Ten Network.

Yeah, yeah. Though I am excited for the Navy game, it's at M&T and I'm going with a friend who just graduated from the Naval Academy, so that should be fun. And after the first three s*** matchups (Navy, Morgan St, Florida Int'l), we have Duke, Wake Forest, Florida State and NC State. Unfortunately the three best teams we play (Miami, West Virginia and Clemson) are on the road.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA Ole Miss

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

In case you were under a rock, Ole Miss lost to Jacksonville State 49-48 in double OT. They're not even D-1! I love love love it. Between the 1st and 2nd quarters of the Mississippi State/Memphis game they put the score on the jumbotron and the entire stadium ERUPTED. This is one of the funniest things of all time. Couldn't have happened to a better bunch. Maybe those dicks in Oxford will come down a peg or two after this.

Hard to say, that's the best conference in NCAA football. I'd love to see their system and coaching at a level where they could attract some of the best talent.
