In light of Tim Bogar getting a baserunner pre-maturely thrown out at home for the umpteenth time tonight, who is the worst Sox 3B coach of all time?

As bad as Bogar has been I think I have to go Dale Sveum. He had guys get thrown out so bad there wouldn't even be a play at the plate - they would just coast into home plate to get tagged out by the catcher.

Wait' date=' Julio Lugo? Am I missing something?[/quote']

Whenever there's a "Worst Red Sox _________" poll, he has to be included. Shortstop, 3B coach, janitor, whatever, he has to be on the list.

Rules are rules.

Whoever we have now is the worst by epic proportions. I've never seen incompetence to this level at that position. Then again, Julio Lugo always deserves a vote on the "World's Worst (Blank)" threads. I hope that when Lugo dies, that his obituary is filled with how bad he was in Boston.

I had no problem with "Send Them In" Wendell Kim. I'd have him be the 3B coach before the other two numbnuts.

I miss Wendell Kim. I remember him standing on top of the dugout and autographing a baseball for me... even though I had no idea who he was at the time.

Coaching 3rd base is important for obvious reasons. It's a mystery how the Red Sox could pick such terrible choices to coach there. Apparently, there wasn't any competition for the job, nor any way to gauge the ability of a candidate. Logic says you pick someone who has proven experience doing the job competently. That didn't seem to be the case with any of the candidates mentioned. They were clearly picked for other reasons unknown.

Off-topic, can you tell me who was the batter and the catcher in your photo? Looks like the batter is kicking the catcher. Never heard of that incident. thanks.

Wendell Kim. I remember when he was the 3rd base coach for the Cubs. One of the guys on WSCR at the time, a big Cubs fan by the name of Mike Murphy, used to call him "Wave 'Em Home Wendell".
