Thames has never hit righties well in his career. This yr is an abberation. Righties hit .421 with a .658SLG vs Choate. Keeping Berkman in guarantees the matchup you want. Putting Thames in gives you a R-R matchup' date=' which is advantage pitcher[/quote']

you seriously are losing your mind

berkman is a .179/.273/.269 hitter against lefties and you're trying to pretend that was a better situation for the yankees than thames hitting against a righty who he's hit .280/.364/.587 off of with 7 home runs this year

I'll be here regardless, but I dont see it. The Yankees may be 1-5 over our last 6, but all 6 of the games were incredibly close in a division leader's ballpark. I also highly doubt Girardi can continue this string of retardedness. And we should be healthier

I'm not going anywhere' date=' but man, if the Red Sox make a run at the Yankees this place will be rough lol.[/quote']

If we do end up making the playoffs and the Yankees don't I'll be here trolling Mostly to Jacko though. All that crap he was talking. It would be so nice to rub it all in his face.

The pitcher is a gimmick lefty who gets dominated by righties. You do not give that up, especially when Berkman has had his mechanics adjusted and looks much better of late

We'd be a 105 win team with a manager who doesnt f***ing suck

at some point you have to put some of the blame on the team. they've scored more runs than any other team in baseball and they're being held to 3 runs or less yet again. they're lucky they even have 3 runs in this game

How many times did Kearns come to the plate with runners on base today? And Curtis? You cannot be having your #4 and #5 outfielders up in big spots in big games

The Yankees next seven games:

3 @BAL

4 vs. TB

The Red Sox next six games:

3 vs. TOR

3 vs. BAL

After that they play three at NYS, 9/24-9/26.

With the way both teams are playing, what do you expect the margin to be when that series begins?

The Sox will characteristically drop 2 of 3 to Toronto. By the time the Sox face the Yanks, they will be 8 games back and virtually eliminated

Based on what? They've owned Toronto this year to the tune of an 11-4 record against them while having a similarly incomplete club for most of those wins.
