Maybe that does it for Tex? Regardless, hell of an AB from Johnson. Kinda pissed at ARod. You have a guy on the ropes and you swing at the first pitch. Cmon man. Regardless, 2-0, nice way to start

It can be tough to stop a fastball in that spot, but Posada should have had that.

EDIT: Big batter here. A run would be huge for the Rangers, especially after falling behind last inning.

EDIT 2: And there we go. Nice pitching by AJ. It might be the early season wind, or it might be other things (YS being knocked down, flukey this season, flukey last season, etc.), but the ball isn't carrying at all so far this year like it was last year. Granted, what happened in the early season last year was pretty insane, but I think over a much larger sample size you'll see a relatively normal (probably above average) home run output from this ballpark.

Swisher is just absolutely brutal in these spots. One of the worst hitters I've ever seen when it comes to getting runners in from third with less than two outs.

ARod goes YARD! This team is really fricking good

You're never as good as you look when you're playing well, and you're never as bad as you look when you're playing poorly (obviously there are exceptions to both of these rules). But I'll admit, I'm optimistic.

Hey, you stole my line! Yeah, things are looking good right now. Granted, ARod is hitting today, Tex hasnt hit at all, neither has Johnson. And Vazquez has been an auto-loss. We still have room for improvement!

Haha sorry, I knew someone always said that here, didn't remember it was you. I'll cite my sources next time.

Anyway, you're right. Some guys will cool off, but once Tex and A-Rod get going, it will more than balance it out.

He's coming up on 100 pitches and we're up by a lot. I dont mess with success. Pull him' date=' give Sergio a chance[/quote']

I wouldn't be opposed to that either, nor would I be surprised.

Ideally I think the Yankees would like to see AJ get through seven' date=' and then go to Mitre for the last two innings.[/quote']

This early in the season above 100 pitches is a danger zone for a pitcher. Since the arms are still getting used to that many pitches. The Yankees don't need AJ to go down with injury. Ideally i would only have them get through 100 pitches.

This has to be rigged. First, AJ Burnett not giving up a single run to one of the best offenses in the league in (one of) the biggest hitters parks in all of baseball, followed by Burnett somehow going out into the 7th after 100 pitches and getting another scoreless inning, followed by Girardi inserting Aceves (on my roster) who promptly gives up a 3 run HR to add insult to injury. The Yankees continue to f*** me over, in more ways than just winning. Even when they do badly they f*** me over.

Aceves was not sharp. He couldnt locate his cutter, which is his bread and butter pitch. Forced him to come in on the hottest power hitter in the game right now and he got burned. Wondering if the back is still bothering him
