While you may be right' date=' I don't think its fair to judge this team until the starting pitcher fires up and the team stabilizes. The back end of the bullpen sucks, so what do you think is going to happen when most pitchers leave in the 5th or 6th inning? The rotation is too good to be pitching like it is-- its not like some of us are overly optimistic about them reaching their potentials, its about them playing at career averages.[/quote']I'll agree with that. I'm saying that they don't have a heckuva a lot of time to find their sea legs. If they fall 10 games behind the Yanks and Tampa by the middle of May, they will be in dire straits. They need to turn things around fast, and that ain't gonna happen if they keep trotting Hall and McDonald to the OF every night.

It's not a bailout. But i know you love them because i hand your ass to you at least twice a week.

And for the record, the "Team as a whole" is still a sweeping generalization and a logical fallacy. I wasn't referring to your idiot statement, but rahter a700 and Doiji, who jumped the fray. You're still a biased knee-jerk.

Beltre has stone hands. LOL!

You don't know what you're talking about.

Just another thing that is obvious.

I'd be more worried if it wasn?t so early. Maybe it's just me' date=' but Tampa simply doesn't intimidate me as much.[/quote']

Tampa is firing on all cylinders. But if their SP continues to pitch like they are, you arent catching them. Their pen is rounding into form with Soriano holding down the fort and their lineup is just good in all facets.

They've won the last two series, and the next two are against Toronto and Baltimore. The plan never was to have a great 7-9, it was to have a great 1-5 rotation. Offensively, Hermida's numbers have been very close to Cameron's, so the team is only really lacking Ellsbury's numbers offensively, but both Lowell and Varitek have been exceptional off the bench.

For now, the team just needs to survive with the defense and bullpen it has right now. Lester finally had a good start, and Buchholz may finally be getting his breakout season. Like him or not, Dice-K gets wins, whether lucky or not, and supposedly his command is better.

Quite frankly, I do think the team has the pieces, but considering just how many of the pieces have been doing horribly if maybe there are bigger issues in the locker room and coaching staff.

Tampa Bay owns the Sox.

At least moving Wakefield to the bullpen was one step in the right direction for this team... other than that, no show.

Yes, because i didn't mention RBI. I knew i forgot something.

The only person who i've ever heard say Beltre has stone hands is you. Through the TV.

They're ahead of the Yankees in the standings as well, you know. A Yankees fan going on a Red Sox board to claim that their rival won't catch a different team in their division, when it's still only April is pretty desperate. Sounds like you need an outlet for some pent up energy.

Really, bullpen rounding into form?

Are you a Tampa fan now? You have Tampa bias now?

I am not a Tampa fan. As a matter of fact' date=' they scare me a whole lot more than you guys do. My hope is that their pen falls completely to dust.[/quote']

I smell fear. And it's not for Tampa.

Here's the thing Jacko. Tampa is already extending their SP further than they should in general in an attempt to avoid their middle relief corps. They know that that's still the week point of their team. And if you think that J.D. Drew and David Ortiz will keep up their current slumps you're a bigger moron...well wait nevermind on that, but you are still a huge moron. If you think Beckett and Lester will continue to struggle.

Seriously the Sawx are stumbling out of the gate but there are plenty of teams every year who turn things around and go foward. This team was picked by hundreds of experts to win the division and if not the Series as well. If in June we are still under .500 that's when I'll start to worry.
