In terms of AAV' date=' I actually think he's worth more than that, but I don't think anyone else is going to approach eight years.[/quote']

You're right about that. I see him going for this deal.

I do wonder how this reflects on their ability to sign Pujols to an extension. Are they trying to show Albert that they'll put talent around him, or are they hedging their bets?

No way the Yankees match that.

It looks like the Yankees are going to take a step back offensively in 2010.

Depends on who else we get. If we get Damon back, then an argument can be made that 2010 Granderson in NY is more valuable than a 2010 Matsui on the offensive side of the ball.

I'm still hoping Holliday spurns those chumps. Would give me a nice laugh.

I also hope Brett Wallace has an awesome career out in Oakland.

His Oakland career was a short one. He will be sent to Toronto for Michael Taylor once the Halladay deal is finalized.

Wow, I totally missed that then.

As for Holliday, I wouldn't be surprised for the Mets to swoop in and try to grab him.

I think Bay is there's to lose at this point and Holliday is too expensive for them

Good, I don't want the Yankees to match that. f*** Holliday....let him stay in St. Louis.

I think our offense will be fine though.

I hope they sign him to this ridiculous contract, then he get injured, misses two years, costs the Cards millions and millions for absolutely nothing, then signs with the Cubs and bats .380 and gets a home run that knocks the Cards out of postseason contention.

f*** the Cardinals.

In regular baseball talk, I agree with the others in this thread. No way anyone matches that for a guy with limited, though acceptable, experience outside of Coors.

Throw in Pujols leaving the Cardinals via free agency and you'd have the msubulldogs stamp of approval.

f*** the Cardinals

I'm glad someone else on this site hates the Cards as much as I do.

I hate the Cardinals and their fans with the hugest passion.

And yeah, the amount of years is what I have the biggest problem with. And they better keep Pujols, otherwise I could see a huge drop off.

Why you guys hate on the Cards? That's my #2 team right there. Great baseball city' date=' class organization, tons of history.[/quote']

This is Why. lol

Try living in a state where 95% are Cardinals fans, hate the AL, think they have the GREATEST FANS IN BASEBALL (!!!!), etc. Plus, them constantly ripping on me for being a Red Sox fan probably doesn't help things. After the Yankees, the Cardinals are my most hated team without a doubt. Lets just say 2004 was a good year for me around here though.

Lol understandable. My cardinal fandom goes back to the first T-ball team I played on was the Cardinals when I was like 4 or 5 years old. I was already a big Yankee fan but I always loved watching Ozzie Smith play, and he still remains my all-time favorite player. I guess I don't care as much about the Cards anymore, but I still like to follow them along with the Mets aside from the Yanks.

They suck because they have some of the most obnoxious fans I know of. White Sox fans are terrible too, they come here and get all "in-your-face" during Twins games, and we usually end up winning, which is really funny, because the mouthy White Sox fans end up shutting their faces.

My most hated teams are:

1. Yankees

2. White Sox

3. Cardinals

Pity. I used to like the Cards.

The White Sox hated playing in that s***** dome. Now that you have a new field, the Twins' dominance at home could be at an end.

Believe me' date=' they don't want you. ;)[/quote']

I'm pretty sure they're not happy about you driving away their fans. So i'd guess you're the one they don't want.
