I read it. Not much to it though. The last 4-5 pages of this thread amounted to b407 repeatiedly stating his position well enough for a 5 year old with FAS to understand and you and Emmz doing your best to drive him nuts.

 

Short of it is, he thinks that by the end of Rondo's deal he'll be worth more than the deal he landed. if that's hard for you to understand, I think you might benefit from remedial classes.

 

Listen, champ.

 

Let's discuss this with some civility (if you can).

 

The kid says Rondo should make 15-17 million dollars.

 

If you agree with that, you are an absolute and total idiot.

If the Celts don't think they're getting a decent bargain on Rondo, the deal doesn't get done. That right there tells me that Rondo's worth more than $11M AAV if he was a UFA. How much more? I dunno, I don't watch much basketball, but it's not that insane.

You are underestimating the heck out of Rajon Rondo. He's not exactly a charity case on the starting 5. I watch enough basketball to know that Rajon is easily the fastest and most athletic starter on the Celtics roster, and he's also the only guy in that starting 5 that really counts as "young."

 

I'll take Ainge's word over yours on what the kid is worth, and Ainge's signature is beside Rondo's on that contract. If no one goes over $11M for Rondo as a UFA, then he doesn't sign him to that money to keep him out of RFA status. Either you're wrong or Ainge is, and I know which one I'd put my money on.

 

BTW you're one to be talking about being capable of civility with the disgraceful way you and Emmz behaved in this thread..

Again, they overpaid a bit to keep him around, probably expecting him to turn into a dynamic two-way offensive player, which he is not now.

 

Again, right now, Rondo is not an 11 million player, but just a tick below it, so paying him 15-17 million now is probably one of the stupidest things i have ever heard.

 

In the future, he might be worth much more, but that is A) Not the case now and B ) He could simply not develop into what they envision and end up a bust.

REALLY? You think he's worth more than 11m? So what, like one for every point per game? He didn't even average 12 points last year. And yeah 8 apg. So let's just pay him the big bucks. Again, not exactly astonished you'd defend his case, despite that everyone disagrees.

The NBA salary structure is so f***ing insane I saw Raef Lafrentz house that is some 100,000 square feet with livestock roaming his backyard, original art from Picasso and Van Gogh and a wife Id cut off a limb to bang...His indoor pool is bigger than my entire condo complex and the man sucks now, he sucked then and hes pretty much always sucked...

When Atlanta gave John Konkak 7,000,000 a year I knew it was time to pay attention to college ball more closely.Rondo has the 2nd most triple doubles in Celtic playoff history I believe and hes still learning the game..His shooting will improve as it does with all these guys as they get older, if this guy can start nailing the 12-15 footer then hes going to be a top 5 point guard in this league.

The boy is tuff, he can rebound, he is fearless going to the hole, he is a tremendous passer and he has 1 ring with more to follow, perhaps a few more to follow.

Hes making 11M a year, didnt Scott f***ing Pollard make that kind of money, Lafrentz did for sure?

They had an interesting write up yesterday about Rondo's contract and it seems the Celts feel they got f***ed and Rondo feels he got f***ed, take it for what its worth.

Rondo was a bust in Kentucky, played very well in the playoffs outside his mysterious disappearing act before a vital game last year for us but overall I like his effort and his toughness.

Hes making more per week than Russell made in his career so I really find it hard to measure ""value"' under these obscene circumstances but with all this being said I'm glad we got him locked in.

Doiji, defend this guy blindly all you want, because that's obviously what you're doing at this point, just coming in to white knight for a cause you didn't even bother to understand. If you did understand, you'd be absolutely foolish to agree with his position.

 

Here's what's been said:

 

bsox0407 thinks that Rajon Rondo deserves 15-17M/yr in the free agent market, and can command the same amount of money as Chris Paul. So how about this, let's do a quick comparison of some major statistics, both offensively and defensively.

 

2007-08 Season:

 

Chris Paul: 21.1 PPG, 11.6 APG, .488 FG%, 2.7 SPG

Rajon Rondo: 10.6 PPG, 5.1 APG, .492 FG%, 1.7 SPG

 

2008-07 Season:

 

Chris Paul: 22.8 PPG, 11.0 APG, .503 FG%, 2.8 SPG

Rajon Rondo: 11.9 PPG, 8.2 APG, .505 FG%, 1.9 SPG

 

Holy s*** dude, those stats are practically the same! Damn, I mean besides the massive difference in PPG, APG, SPG in favor of Chris Paul, they're practically the same guy, I mean seriously, let's just give him the same money as Paul is going to get. Let's just book him for $18M/yr right now!

explain to me both of you. if cavs didn't have lebron they still lose championships, lebron cant win by himself, but rondo can, celtics dont win championship without rondo. if they had cp3 or lebron they lose, cp3 and lebron are both ball hogs and would not let other players get shots.

Yeah, it's not like Rondo won with Kevin Garnett, Ray Allen, and Paul Pierce around him. Much more than whatever LeBron had.

No? Tom Brady has the most rings, so he is better then any qb in nfl right now. its the same reason rondo is better then lebron or cp3.
