when a player starts to deteriorate in his play. When his shooting percentage falls horribly and he cant play worth s***. when a player looks lost on the floor. LiKE SHAQ. lol

So age and health don't factor into your definition of twilight?

Hey.

He's a nice guy.

Maybe he's just got a different definition of the word. Let's read what he has to say.

Honestly, this isn't even worth responding to.

I don't think Ray Allen is done, but any GM that would build a team around him is a moron.

bsox, what do you think of the Twilight books? Vampires and stuff.

never read them. and i bet there is a few gms out there that would take a chance on him. i think that his play is not as great as it was but he is still pretty damn good. i think that he could play even better when he is not overshadowed by PP and KG.

So age and health don't factor into your definition of twilight?

they do but Ray allen still has a lot in his tank. IMO

The fact that he's overshadowed by KG and PP is what keeps him playing at a high level.

Yeah i got your point.

I respectfully bow down.

yeah okay. you make me laugh. he doesn't get as many shot attempts but is still able to drain the same percentage for the past few years.

if we don't have him are we as good? IMO that is a big NO. The Celtics needed him to win the championship and need him this year.

This is the dumbest thing I have ever heard. A percentage doesn't deteriorate based on how many attempts he gets. If you're a 55% shooter, you will hit 55% of your shots, whether it's 60 shots or 600 shots.

we are talking about him in the "twilight" of his career. the percentages are misleading when you take less shots. like on a 20 question test compared to a 200 question test. you get one wrong on the 20 you end up with a 95. one wrong on 200 you still have a 100.

99.5, which would be rounded down to 99, champ.

In the middle of all of this, I have completely lost sight of what your point is. Are you trying to convince people that he's not in the twilight of his career? I'm sorry, but you're not going to win too many people over. While still top-tier, he is not the elite player he once was. Maybe if you try to explain what your point is, I'll be able to better argue, but it's really difficult to get the point out of your posts. Maybe it's the way you're typing. Idk.

we round up at 99.5 and down at 99.4 in my schools at least. still that same question but worth a lot less. takes a lot more to keep that grade high if get fewer chances.

i have already said he is not as good a player as he once was but not by that much. i mean his age would hinder a team from building around him from the ground up. If he was 22 and playing the way he is now i would have him on my team in a heartbeat. and as he is now and the current age he still is a great player and would definitely be on my team.

You're cherrypicking dude, just, 100% is 100%, it's a perfect score, it means you got EVERYTHING right. You're saying that you've got a 99.5% on a test? AND a 99.4% on a test? Or you just happed to ask? I seriously doubt that.

Anyways, that's not the point, I don't think. Well, actually, I don't know what the point really is, exactly.

If he's no longer the player he was, and that is a show-stopper, and is basically the smallest of the Big 3, how is he not in the twilight of his career?

no he is not as far as diminished in his career IMO as being qualified as being a Twilight player.

He's still top-tier, but he used to be arguably one of the best players in basketball when he was in his 20's.

then he is in the Twilight of his Career.

He is still in the Above Average players. prolly a top tier i don't disagree with that. i think he is still a great player.

Prime Allen= Top 15 player in the NBA.

Current Allen =/= top 15 player in the NBA.

That so hard to understand?

The twilight of one's career, to me, is when his best days are behind him and he's had a few major injuries and/or surgeries that are enough to cause some concern about his production going forward. Yes, he's still a great player, and yes, he still puts up great numbers, but he is an injury away from missing significant time due to his age and prior injuries, ESPECIALLY with his ankles.

If you were to build your team around Ray Allen, I would immediately want to be the GM of a team in your division.

But your argument is that he's not much lesser of a player than he used to be.

He averaged ATLEAST 22 ppg from 1999-2007, with the exception of 2001-02, and in that year he averaged 21.8. Hell, by your logic, we could round that on up to 22 couldn't we? Well he's dropped off from his latter years with Seattle to now averaging around 18 ppg. You don't think he's dropped off somewhat significantly, you're cracked.

Well of course when he was in the Top 15 there wasn't Lebron James, Carmelo Anthony, D-Wade, Chris Paul, Derrick Rose. He had great players to contend with but IMO the players now are better then he is. he may not be in the Top 15 but he is still near the top.

Yes, and Paul Pierce and Kevin Garnett were too, back then. Guess what? They still are elite players, Ray Allen isn't.

think about this his need to score every single point has gone down. he is not the Star on the Team with ONE player we have THREE. Look at Kevin Garnett he has a scoring avg of now 18 and below since coming to the celtics. Paul pierce hasn't averaged what he had before the arrival of KG and Ray Allen.

You mean like Sam Cassell and Glen Robinson, who also averaged upwards of 18 ppg on the 2000-01 roster? C'mon, you can do better.

i would want Ray Allen on my roster for the next few years. he still has it. You guys think different about it but i feel that he is not in the twilight of his career. maybe he should pull some roger clemens go on steroids and get better. it think his still a high caliber player.

Also Emmz Kobe has to score more now then he had when he was with Shaq. Did he ever have to avg 30 points a night with Shaq? in 2002-03 he did but that was it.
