The moneyline is +245, meaning if you bet 100 it pays out 245, meaning 2.45:1.

The spread is +6.5, meaning if the Celtics lose by 6 or less, or win the game, they cover the spread. If they lose by 7 or more, the Lakers cover the spread.

Lakers will cover the spread  :(

Worst case scenario they've taken a better team to 7 games, I'm not gonna be too upset. Disappointed sure, but I'm not going to be calling for anyone's head.

I really want to know why this team always half-asses a potential clinching game on the road. The very first sign the other team gives them that this might actually be a game, the Celtics just lock up. 1st round against Miami, past two years against Orlando, and then last night (whatever that was).

Even in past years, this Celtics' team really struggles to close out series on the road, and that's why I was pretty confident that LA would win the series last night, and obviously still am now.

They couldn't close out Orlando and Miami on the road this year.

They couldn't close out Orlando and Chicago on the road last year.

And even in their championship season they couldn't close out LA, Cleveland, and Atlanta on the road (although they did close out Detroit on the road).

The toughest thing to do in the NBA playoffs is close out a series on the road, especially against a championship caliber team. The Celtics are obviously capable of doing it, but I just don't see it happening.

The NBA playoffs this year has shown everyone just how pathetic sports media have become. From all the crap around Labron (the biggest game/series of his career, 1 bad games ruins his legacy, blah blah blah) to Kobe (same damn thing) and they also never understand the ebb and flow of series. After game 1, the Celtics didn't have a chance, blah blah. Game 2, the Lakers imploded and were in trouble. Game 3, What happened to Ray ray? Celtics are screwed again. Games 4/5, Celtics are unstoppable, Ray Ray is terrible, Kobe's legacy is on the line, blah blah blah. Game 6, back to the talking up the lakers, ignoring the reason behind Ray's trouble in the prior games, etc etc.

ESPN and the Boston media are complete and utter trash.

Every time someone has thought the C's were out, that they were too old to compete, that they were down and out for good they came back the next game, played great, and won it. I expect that to happen again in game 7. I'm not freaking about losing Perkins, besides being a body, he wasn't having much impact on this series. Offensively Sheed is way better, he can stretch the floor and is an actual threat to score. Defensively, he's not that far behind Perkins either. The issue will be if Sheed gets into foul trouble, b/c that is when we will miss Perk. Big Baby can only be out there for so long and Sheldon Williams is terrible. We can get by with Sheed for one game, and he will be the X-Factor for Game 7.

The thing about Rasheed that worries me is that he gets into foul trouble QUICK. I fully expect that to happen again in Game 7, especially if he gets the nod to start. The last thing I want to see is freaking Shelden Williams playing minutes in a Game 7. That will effectively seal our fate.

Tell that to Perkins.

Perkins is gone for one game. One game without him is not the end of the world. They can win.

It's not hard to tell when a team is overmatched and when they weren't giving full effort. Celtics knew they had the next game at home each time, so the urgency went down (and it really burned them last year in the semifinals). Only this time, they're not going back home for game 7.

I wonder if anyone has started a "You're a rapist" chant when Kobe is shooting free throws.

Or 'no means no'.

Do you actually believe this?

Yes. They packed it in, just like they did against the Magic in the last round, and against the Magic the year before.

The problem with losing a player in NBA is different than losing a player in the mlb. You don't just replace their minutes with a bench player-- you also have to replace the minutes of the bench player with an even worse player. Last year, Big Baby and Leon Powe replaced Garnett surprisingly well, but the problem was that Scalabrine and Miki Moore played far more than they should have. Perk versus Bynum and Baby versus Odom aren't bad matchups-- but Baby/Bynum Williams/Odom are.
