If that were true' date=' there would be no Divas and prima donas, because they would not be tolerated. The reality is that baseball always has a few divas sprinkled around, and they are always star players. You never see a bench player who is a diva, because he'd be unemployed real fast. Teams tolerate the diva routine from stars. Hence, my "he's earned it" comment. I didn't say that it was right. It just is.[/quote']

I didn't say there weren't divas. There are. Pedro, Manny, A-Rod, Sheffield, what i mean is that being a superstar doesn't mean you've earned the right to run your mouth and be a douche. For that reason i always liked Papi over Manny, even if Manny did have more star power.

Agreed, but I never viewed Pedro as a huge clubhouse problem, because he always left it all on the field. Manny,on the other hand, would just shut down sometimes.

Ugh. Don't even get me started on "Manny being Manny".

Back to the World Series....

The announcement that Lee is gonna go in game 5 is huge IMO. That means that NY has to win only one game to get back to the Bronx, and if they do get back to NY, there will be no Cliff Lee standing in their way. AND, they will be looking at Andy Pettitte and CC Sabathia for games 6 and 7. Thats a pretty big announcement, IMO, and makes me pretty psyched for tomorrow.

Its a pretty big gamble to go with a 3 man rotation IMO by the Yanks, it could very well backfire . everyone pitching on 3 days rest could become a disaster

Or it could be a Godsend.

It really could go either way.

It's the right call by both managers.

Blanton is a decent pitcher, and there are too many variables considering Lee has never done it.

Gaudin is s***, and CC could basically throw on three days rest for the rest of his career.

It was kind of a no-brainer on both sides.

It may very well not work out for the Yankees, but they have to do it. Sending Gaudin out to start in Philadelphia is pretty much sacrificing a World Series game. You can't do that. However, if they somehow find a way to win the next two, I wouldn't be stunned to see Gaudin pitch in game five.

On the other hand, I don't think it's a good move by Philadelphia. I understand that Lee has never done it before, but you have to put the series in the hands of your best pitcher. If the Yankees just take one of the next three, I would give them a decent shot to win both games back in New York, mainly because they won't have to worry about Lee. The main reason you pitch your ace on three days rest in game four, is so you can pitch him in game seven.

As expected' date=' Sabathia was officially named the game four starter.[/quote']

I would have liked someone with no playoff expierence rather than someone that has world series expierence.:DB)

With the exception of 1996 vs. Smoltz, Pettitte cannot pitch a crucial game in the World Series.

With Pettitte's high pitch count, Rivera's limited availability, and the struggles of the Yankees' bullpen (outside of Rivera), the next 12 outs are going to be a real struggle.

On the flip side, it's nice to see some life from the Yankees' offense.

I don't understand why you would green light a struggling hitter (from the right side) on 3-0. Happ didn't earn either of the outs he recorded that inning.
