Burnett can go a little deeper than Pedro. Then again' date=' Burnett is a powderkeg waiting to explode[/b']

Looks like you negated your own point there. How about that.

My point was that Burnett's pitch count is less of a matter since he can implode at any pitch count. Whereas with Pedro' date=' he seems to always falter as he gets up in the count[/quote']

Pedro has a career ERA under 3 until he gets over 90 pitches. Burnett has a career ERA over 4 from pitch 46 through pitch 75. So I guess you're right. Burnett does implode at any time.

But he's still human. He's going to be taken out not long after 100 pitches if he lasts that long.

As good as Howard is' date=' he's incredibly vulnerable to breaking balls out of the zone once the count gets to two strikes.[/quote']

If he was on, he would have squared up the second pitch right down the middle before he got to 2 stirkes.

Absolutely nothing doing offensively. Pedro looked amazing in the first inning, but he has not looked the same since. There have been a few really hittable pitches that the Yankees batters have missed. Nothing new this postseason...

This is why he strikes out a ton. However, breaking balls away out of the strike that he can get his bat on can go a looooong way.

I didn't realize how powerful Howard was until the Yankees went down to Philly in 2006. Mike Mussina threw him a low curve down and away, and Howard sticked the bat out and hit it over 400 feet to left center for his second homer of the game. I was absolutely stunned.

And AJ has gotten wild. This postseason he has pitched in spurts. We've seen a completely different AJ in the third, and so far this inning, than we saw in the first two.

If you're going to go outside to Howard, you better go far enough so that he can't follow through completely on his swing.

PS: What the f*** was Werth doing?
