You would have to admit that he gave the Yankees' hitters a lot of hittable pitches in the first. Based on how they did' date=' he should not have given up any runs, but he was not sharp.[/quote']

How does this change the fact that the results were fortunate?

They don't, which I alluded to. I was merely pointing out that while Lackey was unlucky, in a way, he was also lucky.

another pitch that should have been pounded by the yankees. Lackey cannot get that curve in the lower part of the zone. He's either bouncing it or hanging it

Yeah, another slow start from the offense.

To me, this is a complete 180 from his first start this postseason. In that start he had excellent command of his off speed stuff (especially his slider), while he had no idea where he fastball was going. Tonight he has an excellent fastball, but his off speed stuff has been sub par.

As for the Guerrero double, to me, it looked like Damon gave up on the that ball. Obviously it's impossible to know for sure, but, to me, it looked like he had a play on it. I also wouldn't put it past Damon to make such an awful read on a fly ball. Two balls already hit to the outfield that might have been caught, but weren't.

CC has his fastball tonight which is great. He's doing a lot of damage with the 4 seam/2 seam combo and the change. His slider is off, but he hasnt needed it.

We have the chance to break this thing open here. If we take a lead into a battle of the pens, then we should take this game. Cmon Yankees!

Absolutely unacceptable by A-Rod. He has been great this postseason, but you have got to listen to the third base coach. It's 3-1, but they really let Lackey off the hook.

On the flip side, that was a great piece of hitting by Matsui.

Big run and it seems each one looms larger. how far was Arod out by and will it matter?

Tex looks lost at the plate and i think that takes some more pressure off arod.

Theyre deep, soup to nuts its too deep for the angels to be quiet at the plate.

Nys getting their 4-5 a game no matter what, Anaheim needs to get baserunners and be aggressive when they get there.

mj you suck

More bad umpiring. At this point I'm almost rooting for bad calls' date=' so something is done in the off-season.[/quote']

Was just thinking the same thing. Maybe they will do something.

Not sure what you were looking at. When Tex caught the ball, he was on the base. His foot came off after he caught it

That really was so difficult to tell. It might have been a bad call, but it wasn't blatant like some others have been this postseason. My initial reaction was the throw pulled him off the bag, but the replays were inconclusive.

What's lost in that is that it was a terrific play by Sabathia.

Did you not just talk about the missed call at the plate?

Yeah' date=' but I said the catcher always gets the call. Not mad about it, its just how it always is[/quote']

Tradition shouldn't get in the way of making the right call. Same thing with the 3-0 strike call, as ORS (I think) talked about earlier.
