Its not that he gives up goals, its that he gives up soft, terrible goals. All three tonight were terrible, the first and and the third were inexcusable. He looked like a f***ing fool out there on the game winner in OT

Rask: 8-2-2 1.97 .932

Thomas: 7-7-3 2.48 .914

And Tim Wakefield (10-4) is better than A. J. Burnett (13-9)

Yup.

Loss to the 14th place Flyers (who have less points than the Leafs) after leading after 2 periods ... unacceptable.

Lucky for us, we get to see a rematch in a few weeks on a grand stage.

3 goals allowed in the 3rd period... terrible, one was an empty netter, but yet again Thomas let up a very soft goal from the red line that give Philly the go ahead goal.

You realize that allowing 2 goals in a game is actually an excellent performance.

I'm not sure we should be blaming Thomas for the fact that this team can't freaking score.

Borrowing a post from HFBoards because it says it better than I can.

Much is made of Rask's record but he only has 3 wins against playoff teams. 2.24 GAA .926 SV. Thomas has a 2.29 GAA and .922 SV against playoff teams, fairly similar. About 2/3rds of Thomas's games were aginst playoff teams, and just under half or Rask's are.

Against common opponents, Rask is 1-2-2 with a 2.35 GAA and .925 SV. Thomas is 0-2-1 with a 2.36 GAA and .919 SV.

Other than one real stinker by Thomas, their play is a lot closer than most people would think.

That's fairly consistent with the idea that they're bringing Rask along gently, and are playing the veteran in all the tough games.

If we can't hold a lead after 2 periods to the lowly Flyers, I'm not sure thats something I'm anxious to see.

Dojji, tell me this - would you do the Thomas deal over again knowing what you know now? As in, that Rask can clearly do the job and do it well. You were a big time defender of it this summer. Just curious where you stand now.

Deal should have never been made for that many years. You give him a two year extension and thats fine. Raask has progressed a lot quicker than I thought I would, but at any rate half way through that extension Thomas will be garbage, and the Bruins will be stuck with the $5,000,000 bill a year. But like someone else said, the real issue with this team is goal scoring. The Bruins need to pick up a goal scorer before the trade deadline to contend this year.

Not trying to rub in the offensive woes this year, but do you think they should have kept Kessel? They got some pretty high draft picks for him. Better use them wisely.

By the way, Chara is a f***ing monster.

We couldn't afford Kessel, not for what he got with the Maple Leafs which was 5.4 million. I don't think he wanted to sign here anyway, I've ever rumors that he wasn't the best teammate and he was often poked fun at for his lack of strength condition with the team ( I heard HC Claude Julien even asked Kessel if he knew where the weight room was). I would of love to seen him back, but whats done is done and hopefully the Leafs will suck for the next two years and the B's cash in on the two picks or trade them for a scorer.

Lucic has been skating at practice for the last couple of days, which is a good sign. He isn't ready to play just quite yet, but he is shooting for the Winter Classic as his return as channel 7 reports. The guy has only played in 10 games this year. Part of the the solution of getting the Bruins out of this quagmire they have been in is to get a healthy Milan Lucic back out on the ice.

what an awfull play by Thomas there ' date=' insted of playing the puck he decides to lay a cross check and while he's doing so, the puck squeeks between his legs[/quote']

Yeah, he looked pretty bad there.

That was actually a really fun game. I'd say the ending sucked because it lacked a sweet looking play like the one to tie, but it was fun to see the Fens all decked out. Doing Sweet Caroline was gay and there were a few times the broadcast was off timing wise, like the fly over and the Schill interview (why?). But overall, as a non NHL fan, that was fun as hell. I feel played a little, but it's all right by me!

Oh yeah, I hope the fireworks are a new norm for walkoff wins. That was friggin awesome!

Lucic is coming back soon so the B's need to build off of this win, this game wasn't any regular season games, and the players seemed to play like it was. Besides Thomas stupid cross check move he played a great game, and better late than never for the Bruins offense.
