I don't care if the Bruins get shut out through 2 periods, score the tying goal due to a mistakenly called major penalty on the Kings and then win in overtime by Doughty accidentally kicking the puck in the Kings goal with the back of his skate.

 

At this point, we just need the points.

The Bruins outplayed the Kings all game and dominated overtime just to lose it in the shoot out. This is a game we could have won if we had any kind of scoring ability. It's like watching someone try to run through sand. It must be exhausting for the Bruins to have to play so hard just to get 1 point.

 

At least we did get one point. But it's hard to be happy when it's the only point we've had in the last 16 days.

Realistically, it sucks to lose him cause he's 1 of our better defenders but not just cause he made one hit.

What I meant was that it sucks when an a player makes a nice clean hit on one of the opposing teams better players and one of their teammates takes offense to it and starts s*** like Simmonds did. I'm sick of seeing this happen constantly around the NHL.

Yup, you're supposed to let the other team's best player just waltz on buy with his head down and go for the 1 on 1 situation so you don't stir up any bad blood. I agree completely

It's a give and take thing. The kings are a midlevel team out west at best so why bother laying the guy out when it's going toprovoke a situation where one of our defenders could get hurt?

It's called playing hockey. Who gives a s*** what place the opposing team is in. Kopitars defenseman put him in an awful situation with that pass and he paid the price for it.

Do you really think Stuart thought, "hey, this is one of the King's better players, I better hit him really hard" or do you think he though "this guy is looking behind him/has his head down with the puck and he's skating right towards me, he just handed me a chance for a big hit on a silver platter"?

That's not what he said. By all means, hit the guy -- but when you hit the guy, you'd better be willing to answer the bell because they will come for you.

Boston's leading the Capitals 1-0 in the second period. They dominated play in the first period against the hottest team in the NHL. Definitely one worth watching.

The Capitals tied it up but then we beat the best power play in the NHL three times to protect the tie.

It's 1-1 headed after 2. The Bruins are still playing very well. This is a good one!

Definitely been a good one so far. Nice to see them finally put forward such a great effort, especially against a very good team like Washington.

Gotta love Boychuck taking OV down to the ice. If he was such a tough guy he wouldn't wear a visor.

 

Very disappointing that the Bruins have played so poorly defensively at the end of the game now. Let's see if they tuck tail or continue to play hard knowing they probably don't have the ability to score 3 goals.

Sigh. Its disappointing to see how far this team has fallen. Last or near the bottom in goals scored. Its terrible watching this team just lose every night for the last two weeks. A major shakeup has to be made to get this team out of the funk, we aren't doing it with the guys we got now. I don't really care if a move barely gets us in, it has to be made. If Wideman, Ryder, etc. suck this year then they will just be holding the B's down next year with their s*** play, so unload them now. I wouldn't trade for Kovy unless we can lock him up long term. I wouldn't mind trading Krecji so much now that Savard is locked up long term, Krecji has really regressed a lot this year. Even if we add a goal scorer, are we still fixed? We need to move up a lot to avoid playing the good teams in the first round, and there is still time to do that, but this team has a lot of problems. Too many turnovers in our own zone by defensmen, no one is playing as good as they did last year, no firepower, and the league has figured out Tim Thomas. He isn't as good as he used to be. I would try and shop him this offseason.

I'd like to see them move guys like Wideman and Ryder but they really don't have any trade value.

Is Wideman a FA after this year? I know Ryder is around for years after this year, but your right, they have no trade value right now.

Who's going to take these guys? If we're going to get anyone in who's better than what we have, we have to be taking on salary. The only guy we have who makes sense to trade, and is worth anything to another team is Tim Thomas. And no. Just no.

Carolina was rumored to be interested, but it's unlikely that Thomas would agree to a trade and he had a no trade clause.
