i doubt that. older christians are very into good friday. our Savior was killed on this day.

but many christians (and I admit Im guilty too) dont go to church or "really" celebrate the hollidays like they used to, Jews as a whole tend to actually be more observant of their hollidays than todays modern christian.

Too many Christian holidays incorporate some form of political compromise with a now-long-dead "heathen" religion.

Example? Christmas itself. Christ was born wile shepherds watch their flocks by night. They do that to protect the new lams that are born... in the Spring. As in NOT THE MIDDLE OF FRIGGIN DECEMBER!!!

That decision was made in an effort to replace or supplant the druidic holiday of Yule. Instead the two holidays melded into some kind of freakshow half-Christian, half pagan mythology of its own. The result was a total bastardization of one of the most important moments in Christian history.

i give you most of that but still there are still a lot of christians who live and die by their religion but they may not go to church every single day and there are others who go everyday before work and after dinner.

Game. because apparently this team is the only one that can never hit in New Yankee Stadium.

Wasted a great effort by Paul Byrd

why the f*** is saito in the game anyway. byrd was fine.

you don't really want to leave a guy like Byrd in the game very long at all after they start getting tired. He needs perfect command to be effective.

this is true but I dont know that that matters anymore being that hollidays are just symbols meant to represent an important date in a religions history, just because the dates are off does not mean that the meaning behind the holliday has changed, but its all a matter of opinion and when and what you choose to celebrate, the fact is that no christian hollidays really affect the turnout at games, but Yom Kippur actually keeps a fairly signifigant amount from attending night games.

Byrd will get pelted. Pettite won't be much better, but the keyword here is that he will be better and he will win. Yankees tie season series. We lose season series because we rested too many guys last game.

What?

EDIT: That's a serious lag you got going on there.

What?

Basically, I think it's going to an offensive slug fest that the Yanks will win.

If you think Byrd is even mediocre, think again. He's had one good start. After that, he's been horrible. The only reason he's here is to rest our pitchers' arms, and he can't even do that if he only goes 5 innings giving up 8 runs or so.

It's 3-2 in the 7th.

Okay. When did I say Byrd doesn't suck?

If we lose today, the season series will be 9-9. Who cares?

Sorry' date=' I cannot express how horrible John Miller and Joe Morgan are. Pitiful. Glad they are having sound issues.[/quote']

Um ya. I wanted to gut Morgan earlier when he wouldn't shut the f*** up about jazz and double plays.

Why is everyone treating this like its a "nothing" game? I dont think the players on the field are.

Because barring some unforeseen disaster, both teams are in the play offs?
