Huge 1 game swing today. We had Buchholz against Halladay, and Texas had an early 3 run lead. We probably should be a game back instead of a game ahead. Hopefully we can sweep to carry some momentum into the series this weekend.

I'd be interested to know if KP happened to be watching when Matt Clement got hit in the head, and if she had any thoughts about that?

You can't win this point with all the Youk-o-philes on this site.

I didn't know there were any Youk fans on this site!

In all honesty, though, I will freely admit Youk is an overemotional, overexciteable, egotistical douchebag of epic proportions.

However, he is also a hell of a ballplayer, and unlike one Manuel Ramirez, Traveling Jester, with the exception of this suspension, his antics have never hurt the team.

Yes, he bitches about EVERY called strike. Yes, he slams his bat down and curses like a sailor after striking out in the 8th inning of a game the Sox are winning by seventeen runs, in which he's already hit two home runs and driven in 5.

But he helps the Sox win and I love him for it.

Oh, and good game today.

If they hit and produce, I don't care at all about a player's douchiness.

Not like I'm the one approaching him in restaurants.

Totally agree. Who gives a f*** as long as we are winning. The only players who I wouldnt want on my team bc of personality is A-Rod and Damon.

I don't care about Arod's personality if he's on my team.

The only guys I wouldn't want are the mediocre-to-bad players who just suck all the good out of your clubhouse with their horrible personality.

Milton Bradley, for example.

The same Damon that was a key part in a Boston Red Sox championship?

Then went to the f***ing Yankees?

Well yeah' date=' the stupid ones.[/quote']

Lol i wouldn't have given up that kind of dough either, to be honest.

But that's probably 'cause i'm poor,lol.

Damon played his ass off here and continues to be an effective offensive weapon.

He has lost a step or 2 and is now a liability in the field but he is a pain in the ass to pitch to.

If he hits 35hrs we can honestly say that Yankee stadium is a f***ing joke and makes steroid abuse seem trivial in comparison?...

:wtf: Is there anyone on the team you actually like?

lol

as if he wouldn't be welcomed back with open arms the second he shows up at his press conference with a full beard

No joke.

I could see him in LF next season if things went a certain way in the off season.

I root for all our guys, and in none of the hundreds of games that I have been too in my life do I remember booing one of our guys. There is no player that is above criticism. Is there? I actually took the opposite side (from Crespo) of the Youk argument. I was fine with him charging the mound, but not because I am a Youk-o-phile like other posters.

Not so much above criticism. But damn let's focus on the positive aspects of things every once and awhile:lol:

Discussing what has been done right is really quite boring. Discussions about what needs to be fixed and how to fix it is where the creative ideas get exchanged. No one remembers positive posts, because they are boring. Criticism. . . Well that gets everyone engaged and people remember those discussions. However, I do tire of the accusations that I don't like kids or I don't like Youk, etc. Etc. For the record, I really like watching Youk play. I don't care if a player is an ******* off the field. I enjoy if they play hard and they play well. Youk does. None of my criticism is out of a dislike of anyone on a personal level. Every player, manager, coach and FO person is subject to criticism and that is what this space is for. It has nothing to do with likes and dislikes regarding individuals. To me they are not even real people. I don't know them. I don't care about their personal lives. Why should I... They are not my friends or family. I don't dislike any of them. To do so would be irrational, because I don't know them. I evaluate their play and share my thoughts and opinions here. It's funny how people don't remember my prediction that Papi will be a force the rest of the season, but they will remember every well-earned criticism that I bring here.

I do.

Hard to remember with all the criticism though. :D

So you have to know someone in order to acknowledge that they are real people and real members of society? This certainly explains your Pedroia stance.

What I mean is that I have no positive or negative emotional connection to people that I don't know. These people that go crying to a celebrity's funeral talking about them like they know them when some of them haven't talked to their brother or sister or other family member for a couple of years leave me puzzled.

The Pedroia thing was my commentary on societal priorities.
