dont forget Cal Ripken' date=' how many consecutive games did he play in his day?[/quote']

enough for him to squander incredible talent and go down as a good hitter only because he played SS.

Towards the end of his streak Ripken was barely effective in the field. If he had taken regular rest his numbers over that stretch would probably have been better.

Bard hasn't looked that great in the past 10 days. Sure its just a funk that he will get out of but this isn't the time for funks.

how about my Cowboys? I know there is alot of hate in alot of places for the Cowboys and Im not big on being at all trollish.

No one's perfect!:D

I'm just a member so I have no say, but threads currently exist for The Jets and The Dolphins. The site is some what undeveloped and could use some input from new members.

We have a Damn Yankees sub-forum here. Something like an "other teams" forum could be started if it does not currently exist. I think the is an "Around The League" forum, currently.

I'm kind of stoked about the Pats this year and it would be fun to see other Talksox members over there to talk football.

unfortunately rookies tend to have a lot of "funks" at different times throughout the year, its hard to get consistency from any rookie.

OOOh our other rookie trying so hard in the pennant race. It's sooo nice to see these young kids. He did get the out, but it was hit a weee bit too far and the guy scored. A 50 year old SS helped manufacture the run. He's too old to be good isn't he.

I grew up in West Texas where Football is huge and The Cowboys are King, my local pastor gave short sermons during football season so he wouldnt miss kickoff, and I used to watch the game with all the men in my family, all my grandfathers, uncles, and cousins would sit in the living room bullshitting, talking football, and drinking beer, alot of good memories for me involve the Cowboys.

I might join when it gets closer to football season I just hope they have The_Barbarian left for a username, Marion Barber is my favorite Cowboy's player.

I'm just trying to be enthusiastic about our kids. Bard did strike that last guy out on a nasty pitch. It's tooo bad he gave up that stupid insurance run.

you is a bit cynical...you know that? I mean no offense I agree on SOME of your points but you are a bit cynical.

and you know that there are almost no teams without a few kids filling holes in the lineup? you have to have some rookies on the roster at some point, they dont just magically become veterans.

At age 37' date=' he played 150 games and 140 were in the OF.[/quote']

Tuff and gritty. I bet money someone bitched about him missing 12 games that year.
