Chamberlain has been good in his last two starts, but who knows if the Chamberlain before the ASB is going to show up. His innings cap, which the Yankees are keeping secret, is also a concern. He clearly is not going to be treated like an ordinary starter, come September.

I'm also extremely concerned that Burnett is going to regress, for obvious reasons.

And Mitre, although he is a fifth starter, is clearly a concern.

With that being said, I agree that the Yankees 3-5 is better than the Sox 3-5. I'm just not sure that is going to be good enough to run away with the division.

Combine it with the vast differences in the offenses, and that's the other side of the equation.

Oh absolutely. We'll see. But as you always say, things are never as good as they seem when you're winning and never as bad as they seem when you're losing.

To be honest with you, I'm not even too concerned with winning the division. If I had to have either the Red Sox or Rays (even though TEX is ahead of TB) lose, I'd pick the Rays. I think you guys should feel the same way.

Wow, the Rays f***ing suck.

And Gabe Gross is the worse defensive outfielder in the history of ever, dude makes Manny and Dunn like Mays and a young Andruw Jones.

CC had rough night. They hit him well. Oh well' date=' its okay for him to get it out of his system on a night we get dominated. We werent winning tonight unless CC was perfect.[/quote']

The f*** are you talking about?

He didn't have to be perfect.

All he had to do was not suck, and he failed at it, HARD.

If it'd have been Beckett or Lester, you'd have said, "Well they hit him hard, but when you're an ACE you have to keep your team close".

You trolling pretend doctor.

Joba found something in Nebraska. Maybe his inner child. Maybe his mojo. I dunno. But something centered him, and since that trip, he's been unhittable. Maybe the yankees should schedule quarterly trips to Nebraska for this guy

Dumbass as usual. Kazmir was unhittable tonight. That is what I am saying. In order to beat Kaz' date='[b'] he would have had to be perfect[/b].

No, he simply had to NOT s*** THE BED.

He would have had to allow less than 1 run in his 6 innings of work to match Kazmir. You dont get it' date=' do you.[/quote']

That's what the richest contract for a pitcher is supposed to buy you.

But seriously, you're an idiot for letting me get to you so easily.

If Joba's recent performances keep the Yankees out of the Halladay sweepstakes, I'll be very happy, especially if the Sox land him. After the trading deadline Joba's shoulder will tear apart like Wang's.

I wouldn't be surprised if they went .500 or worse in their next three series, or so. A-Rod is going into one of his slumps again, and the Yankees offense really seems to go as A-Rod goes. I've never seen a hitter as good as he is, go as cold as he does at times. He is an incredible offensive producer, but when he goes cold, he doesn't have a chance no matter who he is facing. He was also terrible defensively tonight. He should have had the Pierzynski ball in the seventh, and he really put Cano in a position to fail on the double play opportunity two batters later. It took him way to long to get rid of the ball. If he gets rid of it right away, Cano catches it coming across the bag and doesn't have to deal with the runner. Instead he is forced to catch it in a stationary position, and has to deal with the runner bearing down on him. Doesn't excuse him from making as poor a throw as he did, but A-Rod could have helped to prevent it.

It really sucks to be at walk-offs on the road.

Yankees get a break, as the White Sox are forced to start DJ Carrasco (who has been pitching out of the pen) instead of Clayton Richard tonight.

Carrasco probably won't be able to go too deep in the game, and the Yankees should be able to put up some runs, which they're going to need with Mitre on the mound. The fact that A-Rod is struggling really concerns me, because of what tends to happen to the Yankees when A-Rod either struggles or is not in the lineup.

Didn't Mitre pitch pretty well in his last start?
