They probably should just throw Ruiz all off speed pitches. He's shown, pretty clearly, in the last game (plus today) that he can kill the fastball but swings and misses at almost every breaking pitch.

yeah' date=' but aside from Encarnacion's single and Ruiz' homer, all of them have been bloops or seeing eye singles[/quote']

Wells' single was hit hard. Inglett's single was hit hard. A couple of the ground ball hits were well struck as well.

Jackson' date=' common, he's so wild. Lets be fair and place the blame on AJ.[/quote']

The WP before that was all on AJ. But 5 hole WP's are inexcuseable.

In college, our coaches would set up a pitching machine 40 feet from home plate and have it cranked up to about 90mph. Now from 40 feet, it looks like 120mph. They would aim it right in front of the plate. If ANY ball went 5 hole, the catcher had to "run the lake" after practice. Running the lake was a 3 mil run that required you to finish within 22 minutes

I understand that. However, your focus should be more on how wild Burnett is, than one mistake by Posada (when he was blocking all those curves the entire game).

I'm very concerned about a possible regression from Burnett. He would seem to be a good candidate for it.

It should be Coke for the first two batters next inning, for a couple reasons. The first of which is that their two big lefties are coming up. The second is that, with the possibility of a rain delay, you don't want to go to Hughes and possibly cut short his outing.

I wonder if this is because they're concerned about the rain delay. If they are then it's understandable. If not, then this should be a well rested Phil Hughes.
