4 in a row. Burnett was dominant and the offense came through late. Nice. Go for the sweep today

I don't know how Burnett did it against such a prolific offense. Guess that's why the Yankees signed him.

Weren't these the same Mets that took two out of three in Fenway?

Nope, I'm pretty sure those Mets had some outfielder named Carlos Beltran in their lineup. The current Mets lineup is one of the worst in baseball.

Oh...yeah....that's right. Maybe the Yankees should wait until all the Mets players come back from injuries. Can we postpone tonight's game?

Every Yankee fan should spit on the performance that AJ had. How dare he play well against an injured team? How is that possible?

If Carlos Beltran was there, he would have had 11 homers in two games and the Mets would have been going for the sweep.

Idiot.

He was answering the question. It's not the same Mets team. That's not to take away from Burnett's performance--that's a great game against anyone.

Just proving that he's an idiot.

You asked a question, I answered it. This is a Red Sox fan forum you're posting in. If you're going to get your panties in a twist every time we don't get a boner over Burnett pitching well, then perhaps you should brag about the Yankees in a... Yankees forum? :dunno:

Am I blowing your mind here?

Dutchy, meet Gom.

Gom, meet Dutchy.

Seems like a fun guy

And thanks for the welcome. Everyone here has been really friendly and it's great to be able to talk baseball (or music, whatever) during the games.

It was a great performance. I thought the joke was pretty harmless but I didn't realize there were such sensitive Yankees fans here. Kind of figured if they were posting in a Red Sox forum, they'd have thick skin.

BBT just said Livan Hernandez is the Mets' best starter. Uhhhhh..

:o

Who exactly said it on the show? Let me guess... Steve Phillips?

I don't remember. Any of them could have said it, really.

As you can see Dutchy, there's a give and take here. Gom, Jacko, and other Yankee fans know what they are in for when they post. I wouldn't worry about their sensitivity. They get their shots in. On the whole, they make the site more fun. Even if they are irritants some times.

It's my understanding, from what I've read, that Sox fans aren't treated as well when contributing on Yankee forums. With that in mind I'm glad I belong to a site that is more tolerant and accepting of people who's opinions differ from our own.

Yeah, Joe Morgan's a dinosaur. I'm gonna show off my analytic power and say the Dodgers have the best record in baseball right now, but as they play more games, that could change.

Really going out on a limb there...

Yeah, I don't have a problem with them posting here as long as they have a sense of humor about it. It makes for good debate.

At the same time, if I make a joke like, "I don't know how Burnett did it against such a prolific offense. Guess that's why the Yankees signed him" in a Red Sox forum and a Yankees fan comes in and acts like I just said Burnett beats his wife, well... you know.

I'm going to try to watch the Yankee / Mets game on ESPN and hang out here. Will you two be here?

I'm definitely watching the game.

For the most part. I'm interested in seeing if Wang can get into the 6th.

Yeah, should we put an over/under on how many innings he lasts or how many runs he gives up?
