Nice win today. Got some offense early and Pettitte made it stick. Still think we squandered some opportunities to pile on, but the pitching was solid.

How do you think the benching went over with ARod? I can't think it will do much for his relationship with Girardi, but then again, everyone on the team hate ARod so it probably endeared Girardi to everyone else.

It wasnt a benching. The guy has played every game since coming back from hip surgery. He was due for a break and I am glad he is getting it now.

The news in NY is that it is a two game benching-- Channel 7 Eyewitness News.

Don't get caught up in the words. A-Rod has played every game (and nearly all of them at 3b) since coming off the DL. Recently, he has really struggled. He's getting some rest. He'll either be back in the lineup Sunday or in Atlanta.

If his injury is actually what was reported, do you know for a fact that that kind of injury leads to other things or are you just guessing?

Yeah, but he's only got 6.5 years and $145m left on his contract. There is such a short amount of time and such a small commitment left that I'm sure the Yankees don't care.
