You have awfully selective memory. Since 1998, the Sox have averaged 2nd place in the East, have two WS rings and made the playoffs seven times. The Rays have averaged the 4.54 position in the East standings, with no rings and one playoff appearance. Nice.

C'mon Sox fans.....Your slow' date=' non-witty comebacks are as bad as your team’s stolen base percentage!! [/quote']

Oh yeah??

Boston's rate in 2008? A solid 117-for-161, or 77.48 percent. The success has given them the third most steals in the American League as of Sunday, behind the Blue Jays (134) and the Angels (122).

C'mon Sox fans.....Your slow' date=' non-witty comebacks are as bad as your team’s stolen base percentage!! Let's face it....gone are the days of fat boys hitting dingers. Speed and pitching is the new reality. The Rays are way ahead of the curve!!![/quote']

Pitching I think the Sox are fine. And overall are probably faster then they have been in the past.

David Price did not even make the team!!! He is the MLB Rookie of the year already and he is not even on the team!!! What does that tell you? When he comes up in June/July' date=' it is sweet dreams to the rest of the division. Your pitching is strong, but not as good as the Rays.[/quote']

Price didn't make the team because of control issues in ST, that and the fact TB does not want him to be a super 2, thus saving the team money.

I'm sorry' date=' you're right. It was Garza that owned your entire line up, not Price. Whoops. Hard to keep track of baseballs best rotation. [/quote']

You realize you they lost the World Series?

2nd breakfast. Apparantly' date=' I can have it both ways.[/quote']

We weren't talking about you sex life, try and keep it on baseball

I'm not the fan who has a cover boy quarterback pitching tighty whities and cologne. I'm sure Brady and A-Rod have a lot to talk about when it comes to male modeling!!!

So know you have resorted to taking shots at the New England Patriots QB, is he starting game 2 of the series?

People from the city who loves to prepay for championships. It will be my pleasure to remind you of the AL East standings from time to time. Like mom used to say' date=' there is nothing wrong w/2nd place, Boston fans.[/quote']

You be surprised what your Mom says when your not around

Ummm....he def. had control issues w/a 1.08era and 10ks in eight innings. D. Price will be better as a rookie than 80% of your starting rotation, exception being Beckett.

No Sox today. The Yanks are on right now, so I'll have to settle for them. Did Sabbathia always wear shoes that white? I've all of a sudden noticed them now with his Yankees jersey on.

Haven't learned about WHIP yet, huh?

At least I don't have to miss this game because of an 8 hours drive anymore. It'll start just as I get out of class :)

Brainiacs' date=' since when does a "prospect" start game 7 of a ALCS? [/quote']

 Poor Matt Garza... So soon they forget! And he was the series MVP, no less!

BoSox21, it's stupid, fuc*in moron. You forgot the comma.

Quick! Name 4 players on the 2002 Devil Rays!

Huff and Victor Zambrano-Kazmir also come to mind. Oh, and what about Dewon Brazelton, wasn't that his pre-hype year?

Not like there's a ton of players from the 2002 Sox left either, or that the 2002 Sox were that much to write home about. We missed the playoffs that year.

If we hadn't resigned Tek ALL of the players from 2002 would have been gone. That's.... kinda scary. Also kinda a testament to Duquette's failures of long term planning. 2002 was kind of the death knell year for him IIRC and in the 3-4 Duquette legacy years only Youkilis among all his prospects really made an impact with this team.

So glad we actually have a GM who knows how to draft now.

Tim Wakefield says hi........

Ouch. How the heck do I keep forgetting Wakefield?

And I like Wakefield! I think the fact that a Wakefield can exist is hilariously funny.

Apparently, some of you live w/your mothers as you have been posting day and night.

Today's Boston forecast: A tropical front will hit like a Mike Tyson right hook. Please be aware of devastating heat from Shields. The tropical front will also cause looting in the form of many stolen bases. The state warns not to attempt to apprehend the looters as their speed and skill are too powerful. The state recommends that Bostonians just sit tight and take it up the ass like usual.

Do you have any intention of ever talking intelligently of baseball or are you gonna just keep spouting your "nanny nanny boo boo" crap about one playoff appearance until you get banned?

Be thankful Coco isn't around to knock Shields out....

Coco at worst grazed Shields. It was Navaro that knocked Shields down. Last October's foul weather games will help out the Rays for this series. I'm looking forward to ESPN's telecast for tomorrow's game. Both the Rays and Sox start out the month w/tough schedules. Should be a good indicator where the teams will go for the rest of the season.

I was happy to see CC's stellar pitching debut yesterday. Go Yanks!!!
