What I'd be angry about is having to navigate my way through monument park if I were playing CF at Yankee Stadium.

Oddly, it didn't happen that often. Believe it or not, not too many guys could knock the ball 450 feet to reach the monuments.(sarcasm) Even if the batter beat the Center Fielder, the ball usually stopped rolling or was tracked down before it reached the monuments.

That was back before roidball though. I guarantee someone gets injured in the late 90s-now.
Even today, not that many balls go 450+. After all these years, it was still a big deal when someone hit a shot into the black seats.

Edit: No one hit the ball further than Mantle, not even the genetically engineered monsters.

Man it's been a long winter. I love this game, I need to get my fix somehow. When the Caribbean Series rolled around I was tuned into every game. Same with the WBC and Spring Training. Idc who's playing, with the dish I watch whoever is on, whenever they're on.

Albaledejo has won the last spot in the bullpen over Tomko (who pitched very well this spring), Giese, and Aceves. So far the roster looks like this with one spot up for grabs.

The last decision is the utility infielder. It doesn't matters that much since whoever gets chosen might get cut or optioned when A-Rod comes back.

Lineup

Jeter

Damon

Teixeira

Matsui

Posada

Nady

Cano

Ransom

Gardner

Back end of the lineup scares me. Good that we have Swisher on the bench.

Tomko goes to the pen in AAA. Geise and Aceves go to the rotation in AAA. I like Alby and am glad he gets another shot. He was solid up to his last outing before he broke his arm last yr.

LOL, you know the days of Murderer's Row are a distant memory when Yankee fans are saying stuff like this

Who knows, maybe somehow it'll work out better for them. After all, we're going on 9 years of murderous line-ups that have accomplished ZERO.

Cano could rebound to hit .300. Gardner will surprise you. He's going to be a game-changer at the end of the lineup. Watch.

I wouldn't be surprised if he got on base at a .350 clip and stole 30 bases. He does that, I'm happy.

I fully expect Cano to hit over .300 again this yr. He had one bad month last yr which skewed all of his stats.

Not that batting average is worthy of consideration, but you fully expect him to hit over .300 because he only had one bad month last year, yet he managed to hit under .300 in 5 of the 6. Sound rationalization.
