But you just went through his injury history dating back to 2006:wtf:

A triceps tendinitis when he was pitching in the University of Nebraska, and a hammy pull on 2007. WOW!

You guys make it sound like he's Harden, Prior, Wood or something. Give the kid a break.

I'm not saying he is there. But there is atleast a small concern for his durability.

Ha. I can only imagine what you'd be saying if we were fans of the opposite teams.

Let's remember this the next time he tries to bring up Beckett's long and glorious injury history.

Which will, of course, be pretty soon.

Twins Showing Interest In Jarrod Washburn

By Drew Silva [February 2 at 8:49pm CST]

According to John Hickey of the Seattle Post-Intellegencer, the Twins have "some interest" in dealing for left-hander Jarrod Washburn.

Hickey writes that the Mariners and Twins discussed a deal last week that would have sent Washburn and catcher Jeff Clement to Minnesota for 23-year-old outfielder Delmon Young. It's not known whether that particular deal fell through, but it's likely. The pieces just don't seem to fit. Washburn, 34, went 5-14 last season with a 4.69 ERA and the Twins already have a young, All-Star catcher

.

HSFF:shock:(Holy.Sweet.Flying.F***)

If Seattle is throwing around Clement for that kind of price the Sox need to jump in ASAP or,

maybe if Clement is dealt to the Twins, the Twins will trade Mauer:thumbsup:

Sureeeeeee, because Clement is way better than Mauer.

That's not what I was saying at all. The fact you came tot hat conclusion is beyond me.

I'm saying with a new young, cheap high talented prospect, the twins would be more willing to move Mauer instead of signing him to a big $ deal. It has nothing to do with Clement being better then Mauer.

Don't see it happening.

Yeah' date=' we could totally give Seattle a fair deal for Clement. Their farm system needs help after the Bedard fiasco. We should have Seattle's GM on speed dial.[/quote']

I still think if I'm trading for a Seattle catcher I take the low road and make the move for Johjima. I see no reason at all why he won't bounce back from a total fluke season and that way we get to keep more of our top prospects.

That's way less likely of course with Tek in the fold.

I don't know, I'd go for it and go for Clement. This is of course, depending on what the Mariners ask in return. I personally think that if we took on some salary from the Mariners, that we could get Clement without having to give up much in the way of prospects. I'm not sure about specifics, but if we took on someone like Washburn's contract, we should be able to give up less prospects (perhaps keeping Buchholz) in order to obtain Clement.

I'm not saying I recommend the situation to occur in such a fashion, but it's a tactic that could be used to obtain a higher quality player for a more reasonable return.

I didn't say he was. But Johjima and Bowden is better than Clement and no Bowden.

And your exact statement (that you seconded) wasn't "Johjima is not better than Clement" but "Johjima blows" which is not true, BABIP-fuelled bad year in 2008 notwithstanding.

*sigh*

We've been over this before. I guess you really can't make a horse drink when you lead them to water...

Yes, but if Jojihma is the Horse in question, I'd rather they drowned him in the water it was lead too.....

I'd rather they trade Buchholz and friends for Mauer. But I'd be on board for Bowden+ for Clement.

Where would everyone rank Clement on a list of,

Salty, Teagarden, Montero, Clement?

That says more about Bowden than either of the catchers.

Which was my point. You don't cavalierly "trade for Clement" without discussing exactly what it is you'd be giving up.
