Love the lettering... Absolutely hate the socks on the side.

 

What is it with those damn Sox? First the hideous hats and now they have infiltrated the Jersey as well? Do they think we forgot we are the Red Sox? Are they pandering to "on the fence" pinkhats who want the cutesy little sox on the side for their kids? I always loved the teams that DIDN't change their uni's... The Sox had basically kept the integrity of their "oldies" with a few minor exceptions.. The road uni's were actually better than in the day of Jim Ed and Dewey..with the red lettering and such.. But the home uni's should never have been changed. They already wear the alternate Reds enough.. why f*** with the traditional home uni's??

 

These road uni's would have been sweet had they nixed the socks. Hell, maybe they will grow on me..I used to hate the Red home alternates as well...I can now take them in very small doses.

It is the HOME-Alternate uniform which will sport the Hanging Sox logo with the Red Jerseys.

 

Like I said, maybe they will grow on me... but I kinda like the plain whites... I do like the Road Jerseys minus the Hangin-Socks on the sleeve. Tito loves them... s***, I really don't care, just win this thing in 2009!

Not to complicate this any further, but I had heard that the only time the cap will have the hanging sox in when they wear the home alternate. All other combinations would then have the "B".

 

Now, that's not what all the graphics show that you can find around, but that is what I heard.

Well, maybe Tito loves them cuz he won't ever be seen wearing one during the games. But I personally like the changes; spice thing up a little right? The hats are cool too and the blue jerseys are an interesting choice considering they've been used as BP jerseys for years. But I'm psyched for this season now.

The new hats are cool but I really hope that those grey jerseys don't stick as the road jerseys they are pretty ugly looking. I like the Alternate's though those look pretty cool.

The grays are f***in sick. Definitely one of the best road uniforms in baseball. The only change I would make is with the number style. I know it wouldn't match, but I'd rather use more standard looking numbers for that jersey, because the 'Sox' number style doesn't look too good with them, IMO.

I'm not always big on changes when it comes to uniforms. I've been a sox fan since "98, and I like the road uniforms with the red lettering much better. I know the blue letters are from the 80's. The 80's uniforms had much darker letters which made it look more black than blue. The new letters are more blue. But it doesn't really go with the hat in my opinion. The red hat logo with blue lettering on the jerseys is a bit off. I'm sticking with my original red sox hat with the "B" logo. The hanging sox are cool for the fans to wear, but it looks more proffessional in the game to stick with the letter B on the hat. I actually love the alternate colored blue road jerseys with the red lettering. I had one of these a few years ago with Manny's name on it. Of course I've threw it away. But I've been wondering for years why they never used these jerseys. They go perfect with the hat, and it still keeps the "red" in red sox with the red lettering.

That's what I wanted to know when I 1st saw these. i thought they were an alternate road jersey. But from the few times I have played MLb the show on ps3, these are the new jerseys, and the old road jerseys with the red letters are gone. I think they might wear the road jerseys with the red letters as the throw backs every now and then. But these new road jerseys they are bringing back from the 80's are the new uniforms for the road from now on.

The hat does suck. The hats with the hanging socks should be something that onlyt the fans wear. Like when you see Mets and yankees hats in all these different colors like red, green, and orange. Those items are cool for the fans. But you'll never see the teams wear these alternate style hats. I'll never wear a hanging socks hat. I like the traditional "B" Logo. I can get used to the new gray road jerseys. I understand that it's the original color from the 80's. The lettering is more bluer.The lettering in the 80's was more darker, and looked black. I love the blue road uniforms. I've been wondering for years why they haven't worn these. It goes perfect with the hat. I've had the blue manny ramirez jersey for years, but of course it's in the trash can now. The gray uni's with the red letters and the alternate color blue jerseys would be best.
