The primary gray road shirts are quite sharp.

However--

I hate the 'dual sox' hat with deep passion, and think it will be blasphemy to use it on the field.

The 'B' logo is one of the most classic identities in all of sports and why in the hell would you mess with it?

This would be like the Yankees putting that stupid baseball bat topped with 'Uncle Sam'-like hat 'official' logo on their hats replacing the crudely drawn symbol they normally use-- watering down that symbol that identifies their franchise across the planet and therefore diminshing their brand.

Does anyone have a problem with the road jerseys looking a bit Yankee-ish?

Not when it's pretty much exactly like the uniforms looked in the 1980s.

People are this bent out of shape about uniforms?

They could wear burlap sacks for all I care as long as they had ones with "T-E-I-X-E-I-R-A" and "S-A-L-T-A-L-A-M-A-C-C-H-I-A" on the back.

Kilo- As much as I want those players, do we really need a lineup of names we can't spell?

Salty

Tex

Pedroia

Lowrie

Jacoby

Dice K

Youk

Bay, Drew and Ortiz are the only dead giveaways.

I actually like the Hat. I don't understand why some are freaking out about it tho. I mean it's the road alternate. It won't be warn in Fenway. And it will only be warn a few times a year.

Live in the now everyone. If you don't want to see Fenway replaced, and you want the team to stay finacially competitive, you will have to concede small things such as the hat logo and changing of road jerseys. To keep these things, the Sox must find alternative revenue. And changing a Logo or changing uniforms will help produce some alternative revenue.

The only sound argument I have heard against the new unis are that the old ones were worn in 2004 an 2007' date=' when they won the title.[/quote']

But is that even a sound argument? Jerseys most certainly do not affect a team's performance.

I don't care what they wear, though the road ones are starting to grow on me.

I know, but the image is the most important thing.

I've already stated I couldn't care less what they wear.

Ive started to like the retro uniforms a little more, but the can we all agree the hats kind of suck?

Ive seen the hat in real live now that i got one and it look way better in person then online. i don't think its as bad as everyone is thinking.

hey, is Saltalamacchia a free agent??

lol i know. i just thought it would be funny. i've been in Hollywood for ages now and i got to see him up close. then again, going to a dodgers game is like watching the grass grow.

and i know we could. i think it would be a good move. i just hope we dont give up to much for him, but then again we have to do what we have to do. thats the most important spot on the field.

i dont know a lot about Saltalamacchia, but from the little ive seen and the people i have talk to they all seem to love him. what is do you and everyone on here think???

Well he's an iffy fielder (maybe not even a future catcher), but all signs point to a promising career as a hitter. I would like to see him platoon with Varitek, where he hits against righties and Tek hits against lefties.

Yeah that wouldn't be bad at all. do we not have much down at Pawtucket?

There's Brown and Kottaras who will probably end up being mediocre MLers if they do make it at all. The only catcher we have who is considered a prospect is Exposito who's still in Single A

Wagner is considered to be a decent prospect with some upside. But he to like Esposito is far off.

Actually, "iffy" is quite generous on your behalf.
