I don't quite get why people dislike the WBC so much, especially compared to watching Spring Training. These games are much better, and pitchers are still restricted considerably.

I stayed up to watch the the Japan/Korea game last night (2 am Pacific). The enthusiasm in Tokyo was amazing and the Japanese team was really impressive. I think it is good baseball and is fun to watch stars playing in different environments.

Yoooouk!!

lol at usa vs canada commentator

"Everyone's been talking about Youkilis being replaced. Mike Lowell came here, so Youk moved to 1st base. If they got Mark Teixeira, where wouldve they put Youkilis?"

They did. The DR didn't look that bad' date=' they just couldn't push runs across all day.[/quote']

0-8 with RISP.

So yea, apart from Willy Aybar (2-3, BB, 2b), Willy Taveras (2-3,2 BB, CS), and Miguel Tejada

(1-4, HR), nothing much else going on.

The defense was awful early on, and Sidney Ponson looked his best.

One thing to note, Pedro Martinez looked extremely good on the mound today, 3 IP, H, 4k, hit 90 on the gun a couple times, good movement, threw a lot of strikes, "Amazing" about sums up his performance.

The USA/Canada game was really exciting today. I thought Putz was about to blow it in the 9th. Canada is a sneaky good team. They are a little thin with pitching depth, but their lineup is solid. Bay, Morneau, Martin, Votto, Teahen, Stairs, etc.

I still can't get over the Netherlands beating the DR. Somewhere BSN07 is sending a victory pm to DipreG.

Still waiting for it, lol.

Adam Dunn is so awesome, and there's a healthy dose of lulz of him raping pitches in Toronto considering Ricciardi's comments last season.

What did Ricciardi say? Apparently I missed that.

Nice custom title, BTW. lol

Adam Dunn said the following after the USA/Canada game Saturday

"If this is like the playoffs, I have to be in the playoffs"

Says the guy who just signed with Washington

Ya probably should have thought about that before choosing Washington. That game is probably the closest he will get to a playoff type atmosphere for the next couple seasons, unless he's traded.

Or unless most of the teams in the NL "magically" disappear...

Were any contending teams trying to sign Dunn? If not, you can't blame him for signing with the Nationals.

I seem to remember him being interested in the Cubs. But Hendry's a dumbass and went with Milton Bradley, who probably won't even play 100 games.

Not really faulting him as much as pointing out the irony of him saying "I have to be in the playoffs" but he just joined a team that doesn't have a prayer of making the playoffs

Have to admit, I've been kinda rooting for that underdog Dutch team. Not much offense, but they sure look pretty out there defensively. Some of the best overall fundamental defensive baseball I've seen in a long, long time. Pity they couldn't scratch across more than the one run.

You want to see fundamentals, watch the Little League World Series.

ORS watches it for a completely different reason...but we won't get into that.

Seriously?

This coming from the guy who wants to do the 16-year old japanese pitcher?

Nice example of FAIL, my good sir.
